GLASGOW — Jackie Coulter

GLASGOW — Jackie Allen Coulter, 53, of Edmonton and formerly of Glasgow, died “12-12-12” at his home.

He was born in Glasgow and was an employee of Dickerson Lumber Co. Jackie was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at Sulphur Well.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Debbie Coulter; his four children, Mandy Mohow, of Glasgow, Katie (Chucky) Green, Taylor Coulter and Wesley Coulter, of Edmonton; a sister, Connie Wheeler, of Glasgow; his mother, Juanita Coulter, of Clarksville, Tenn., two brothers, Steve (Jennifer) Coulter, of Clarksville, and John Coulter, of Glasgow; five nieces and one nephew; a special friend, Gary Taylor; the lights of his life, his grandchildren, Brooklyn and Wyatt Green, and his mother and father-in-law, Robert and Norma Vance, of Glasgow.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Coulter; paternal grandparents, Hascal and Ethel Coulter; maternal grandparents, Arthur and Lera Bell Shaw; and a nephew, Corey Wilson.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Bristletown Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to Bristletown Cemetery, 1443 Les Turner Road, Cave City, KY 42127.

Charles Gramlin

TOMPKINSVILLEā€ˆ— Charles Edward Gramlin, 61, of Tompkinsville, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at Monroe Health & Rehab Center in Tompkinsville.

He was the son of the late Earl Franklin Gramlin and Robbie Glee Murphy Gramlin and the husband of Rebecca Ferguson Gramlin, Tompkinsville

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial in Monroe County Memorial Lawn in Tompkinsville. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Milltown Baptist Church Building Fund or Monroe Health and Rehab Center.



William Roddy

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — William Taylor Roddy, 78, of Indianapolis, Ind., formerly of Tompkinsville, died Dec. 12, 2012, at Saint Francis Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was a son of the late Robert Taylor and Kate Pitcock Roddy. He was retired from Ingersoll-Rand in Indianapolis and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Beckton Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Crabtree Roddy; one son, Robert Taylor Roddy Jr., of Indianapolis; two sisters, Betty (Bruce) Fahnestock, of Greenfield, Ind., and Marilyn (Joe) Keffaber, of Bowling Green; three brothers, Orville Roddy and J.B. Roddy, both of Indianapolis, and Paul (Brenda) Roddy, of Tompkinsville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Inell Carter and niece, Rita Fay Carter.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 15, at 1 p.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial in Old Mount Hermon Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. Saturday until time of service. Memorials may be made to the Old Mount Hemon Cemetery.



Sherryl Swift

GLASGOW — Sherryl Ann Swift, 63, of Glasgow, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital after a long illness.

She was born in Glasgow the daughter of the late Corbert O’Shea Boston and Winona McGuire Polson of Louisville, who survives. 

 Sherryl was the child care director of T. J. Samson Day Care and was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church. She was very active in cancer support groups and the Relay for Life organization. 

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Michael T. Swift; four children, Schelly Vance and Beth Payne, of Glasgow, Johnny Vance (Laura), of Smiths Grove, and James Timothy Swift (Faith), of Glasgow; a stepson, Jason Swift, of Nashville; her sister, Lou Ellen Boston (Bob Calfee), of Hiseville; her brother, Charles Boston (Beranetta), of Danville; a half-sister, Laura McConnell (Mike), of Louisville; four grandchildren, Benjamin and Jesse Payne and Mary Kate and Grady Vance; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Mallie Boston.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to either the American Cancer Society or the Barren-Metcalfe EMS at P.O. Box 304, Glasgow, KY 42142.

Guy Marrs Young, 78, of Summer Shade, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at home. Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 14, at 1 p.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home with Brother Paul Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in Summer Shade Cemetery.
