Carl E. Eaton
AUSTIN – Carl E. Eaton, 81, of Austin, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013.
He was born in Barren County, the son of the late Floyd and Eva Todd Eaton. Mr. Eaton was a farmer and a former school bus driver for the Barren County Schools and was also a Baptist minister. He loved to sing and had been a member of various gospel quartets. He was a veteran and served in the U.S. Marine Corps where he was awarded the Purple Heart medal and was a charter member of Combs Lane United Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Keen Eaton; one son, Barry Eaton and wife Beverly of Austin; one daughter, Baretta Shirley and husband Eutre, of Glasgow; an adopted son, Ricky Eaton of Lima, Ohio; three grandsons, B.J. Eaton and wife Joann, Chris Wyatt and wife Kattie and Robert Wray, all of Glasgow; five great-grandsons, Trey Wyatt, Conner and Ethan Wyatt, Austen Eaton and Mason Wray; one sister, Nelda Strode and husband Frank, of Tracy; three stepchildren, Tim Keen and wife Larissa, Pam Petty and husband Ray, and Tonya Keen, all of Scottsville; four step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren, Derek Keen, Holly and Derron Petty, and Kailey Sanders; and a brother-in-law, Doug Ritter, of Tracy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Vera Furlong Eaton; a brother, Bobby Eaton; a sister, Betty Ritter; and four other siblings who died at a young age.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Friday.
Roger Glenn Mansfield
FOUNTAIN RUN – Roger Glenn Mansfield, 51, of Fountain Run, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at his residence in Fountain Run.
He was the son of the late Herman Mansfield.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Catherine (Jones) Mansfield.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Fountain Run Funeral Home with burial in Chestnut Point Cemetery in Allen County.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
MUNFORDVILLE – Winford Maxey, 76, of Munfordville, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.
He was a farmer and a Baptist.
He was the son of the late Henry Maxey and the late Tennessee Young Maxey.
He is survived by three daughters, Shirley Maxey, Jo Ann Maxey, both Munfordville, Janice Maxey-Rice, Glasgow; one son, Ronald Maxey, Lexington; one sister, Martha Aileen Paul, Munfordville; two brothers, Henry June Maxey, Horse Cave, Ervin Maxey, Munfordville; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and special friend, Carol Melton, of Munfordville.
Visitation is in progress and will continue from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the funeral home with Reverend Douglas Barbour and Keith Rowlett officiating. Interment will be at Allen Seminary Cemetery, Hardyville.
Gladys L. O’Byrn
HENDERSON, Nev. – Gladys L. O’Byrn, 83, of Henderson, Nev., died Monday, June 3, 2013.
She was born in Edmonton on Jan. 6, 1930, to the late Loranzia and Ruby Salmon Bunch.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, July 20, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Saint Helen Parish Center, 230 Cavalry Drive, Glasgow.

Nora Elizabeth Parker
CAVE CITY – Nora Elizabeth Parker, 97, of Cave City, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013, in Horse Cave.
She was the daughter of the late Samuel H. Boles and Nora Kerley Boles and the wife of the late Robert H. Parker.
She was a cook for National Park Concessions and a member of Cave City Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, George Thomas Parker (Genene), of Sikeston, Mo., and Norman Parker (Gayle), of Caneyville; three daughters, Mary Jo Fisher, of Smiths Grove, Ann K. Smith (John), of Horse Cave and Peggy Hamilton (companion John Crabtree), of Lewisville, Texas; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Martha Jane Parker.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cave City Baptist Church for Missionary Works, Mrs. Fern Ferrell, treasurer.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2013, and after 9 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013, until time of service at Patton Funeral Home Park City Chapel. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Patton Funeral Home Park City Chapel with burial in Cave City Cemetery.
GLASGOW – William O. (Daddy Bill) Alexander, 87, of Glasgow, died on Monday, July 8, 2013. A celebration of life will take place in the chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home in Hendersonville, Tenn., at 10 a.m. Thursday. A second celebration of life service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Interment will be in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Patients Assistance Program at Cumberland Heights, or to Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Hendersonville.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Clifton Delano Ray, 96, of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Clay County, Tenn., died Friday, July 5, 2013, in Jacksonville. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Strode’s Gamaliel Chapel in Gamaliel with burial to follow in Gamaliel Cemetery. Military rites will be performed at graveside by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow.
