GLASGOW — Darryl R. Callahan

LEXINGTON – Darryl R. Callahan, 63, former attorney-at-law and general counsel at Georgetown College, died June 27, 2013, at his home.  

Born in Glasgow, he was the son of the late Blaine Jefferson and Georgia Ray Callahan.  

Mr. Callahan completed his undergraduate at Murray State University and completed his law degree from the University of Kentucky. He was a member of Christ Church Cathedral, Lexington, Kentucky Bar Association, University of Kentucky Alumni Association and Murray State University Alumni Association.  

He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Callahan McDonner and son-in-law, David McDonner; uncle, Fred Callahan, of Booneville; grandchildren, Ashton and Hudson McDonner.

Services will be 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at Christ Church Cathedral, Lexington. A reception will follow.  

In lieu of flowers, the family asks a donation be made in honor of Darryl R. Callahan to the Lexington Humane Society, 1600 Old Frankfort Pike, Lexington, KY 40504.

Milward Funeral Directors, Inc., Lexington, is in charge of the arrangements.

William Roger (Burr) Chenoweth

GLASGOW – William Roger (Burr) Chenoweth, 73, of Glasgow, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at Glasgow State Nursing Facility.

He was a son of the late John Thomas and Betsy Jewell Miller Chenoweth.

A graveside service was Monday, Aug. 19, at 1 p.m., at Refuge Cemetery with Brother Berlon Roy officiating. Burial followed in Refuge Cemetery.

Layne Preston Houchens

GLASGOW – Layne Preston Houchens, infant son of Haley Wilkinson and Tyler Houchens, died Sunday morning at Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville.

Layne was born Aug. 5, 2013. Arrangements are incomplete, but are under the direction of A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.

 

Mary Louise Jolly

CAVE CITY – Mary Louise Jolly, 68, of Cave City, died Sunday, Aug.17, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.

She was born in Somerset and preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Irene Phelps Massey.

Survivors include her husband, E.W. Jolly, of Cave City.

Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home with burial in Cave City Cemetery.

Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may be donations given to Lighthouse Church in Horse Cave c/o Brother Bobby Neal.

 

Lillian Mae Sweet

MUNFORDVILLE – Lillian Mae Sweet, 88, of Munfordville, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at Hart County Health Care Center.  

She was a Hart County native and a daughter of the late Cesna Logsdon and Flora Mae Hester Logsdon and the wife of the late Nim Rod Sweet.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home with burial in Center Point Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m. and after 8 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
