Bettie Carol Huntsman Biggers
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Bettie Carol Huntsman Biggers, 80, passed away at her home in Nashville, Tenn., on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, following a lengthy illness.
A Scottsville native, born on Christmas day in 1932, Bettie Carol and husband Paul E. Biggers Jr. owned and operated Interiors by Biggers in Glasgow, for several years until his death in 1978. She later located to Phoenix, Ariz., and continued her career as a valued employee of Dillard’s Department Stores. Upon her retirement in 2010, she moved to Nashville, Tenn., to be near that which gave her the most joy … her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Bettie was preceded in death by her father, Harry B. Huntsman; her mother, Lillie M. Huntsman; and a sister, Marilyn.
She is survived by her brother, Dr. Harry B. Huntsman II, Greensburg; her sister, Deanna H. Lane, Indianapolis, Ind., and her brother, Eric M. Huntsman, of Fort Myers Beach, Fla. She is also survived by her sons, Paul E. Biggers III and wife Kaye, Nashville, Tenn.; Stephen E. Biggers, also of Nashville, and Brent H. Biggers, Scottsville. Bettie so adored her seven grandchildren, Monet Biggers Suchovsky and her husband Craig; Paul E. Biggers IV, John Stephen Biggers, and Jacob Hugh Bartlett Biggers, all of Nashville, Tenn., Christopher Bryant Biggers and wife Jacquline, Washington, D.C.; Jackson Murphy and Lauryn Turner Biggers, of Scottsville; and her loving great-grandchildren that brought her so much joy, Kate McKenna and Caroline Eve Suchovsky, Nashville; Addeline Grace, Micah Huntsman, and Ainsley Julienne Biggers, Washington, D.C., and Rondal Earl Trigg, Greenville, S.C., a son from another mother, Geneva Trigg. A void is also left in the hearts of many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A private, family ceremony will be observed with internment in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to Bettie Carol’s favorite charities, the American Heart Association or Ronald McDonald House, or to the charitable organization of your choice in her honor. A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
