GLASGOW — Elbert ‘Tee’ Gann

CAMBY, Ind. – Elbert “Tee” Gann, 84, of Camby, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013.

Born Jan. 22, 1929, in Macon County, Tenn., he was the son of Auby C. and Mamie Martha Gammons Gann. He married Donna Moran Heinrichs on Sept. 24, 1983, and she survives.

Tee owned and operated Gann Industrial Contractors and IME, Inc. until he retired. He was a member of Beech Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Kentucky and the Heavenly Heritage gospel group.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Gann; sons, Gary (Linda) Gann, Rusty (Chris) Gann; daughters, Alana Gann, Dana Anderson; stepchildren, Debbie Heinrichs (Sally McCracken), Kristie (Daryl) Stearman, Terrie (Jason) Castetter; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Buenie C. and Orville H. Gann.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, and also an hour prior to the service in the funeral home.

Patricia A. Hazelip

GLASGOW – Patricia A. Hazelip, 79, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at NHC Healthcare Facility in Glasgow.

Arrangements are incomplete, but are under the direction of A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.

Mary Katherine Payne

SMITHS GROVE – Mary Katherine Payne, 86, of Smiths Grove, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at Greenwood Nursing and Rehab in Bowling Green.

She was born in Barren County, the daughter of the late Horace Alton Hawks and Ruby Hazel Nuckols Hawks. Her husband was the late, Kenneth Payne.

Mrs. Payne was a homemaker and a member of  Lawrence Chapel Baptist Church.

She is survived by 11 children, Linda Rigdon, of Oakland, Paulette Payne, of Smiths Grove, Jimmy Payne (Pam), of Scottsville, Vicky Poynter, of Smiths Grove, Ricky Payne (Sheila), of Smiths Grove, Bernardine Francis, of Smiths Grove, Debbie Williams (Charles), of Alexandria, Rex Payne (Jini), of Smiths Grove, Dennis Payne (Shannon), of Brownsville, Kevin Payne (Sandy), of Smiths Grove, and David Payne, of Smiths Grove; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Nina Lawrence, of Smiths Grove and a brother, Karleen Hawks, of Taylorsville.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday.

Arthur A. Woodson

LITTLE ELM, Texas – Arthur A. Woodson, 85, of Little Elm, Texas, and a former Glasgow resident, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, in Plano, Texas.

He was born in Glasgow, the son of the late William D. and Mary E. Wilson Woodson. Mr. Woodson was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Air Force and was retired from the Chevron Company.

He is survived by his wife, Mae Beatey Woodson; a son, Rob Woodson, of Frisco, Texas; five brothers, David Woodson and wife Gladys, of Jeffersonville, Ind., Ralph Woodson and wife Alma, of Raleigh, N.C., Urey Woodson, of Atlanta, Billy Woodson and wife Linda, of Pensacola, Fla., and George Woodson and wife Rita, of Glasgow; three sisters, Jane Hoyt, of Mount Vernon, Ill., Mary Rapier, of Chandler, Ariz., and Sarah Luttrell and husband Bill, of Edmund, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time for the service.

MACON, Ga. – Jenny Lysle Mayhall, 82, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Pearl Webb Cemetery in Canmer. Snow’s Memorial Chapel Funeral and Cremation Services, Cherry Street, has charge of arrangements. Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville, is in charge of local arrangements.


TOMPKINSVILLE – Geneva Jane Brooks Smith, 88, of Tompkinsville, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery in Monroe County.
