CAVE CITY – Anna Katherine Hanson, 89, Cave City, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at her home.
She is the wife of Coy Hanson.
Funeral arrangements under the direction of the Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel, Cave City, are incomplete at this time.
Kacy Nicole Moran
MUNFORDVILLE – Kacy Nicole Moran, infant daughter of Patricia Long and Anthony Moran, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. In addition to her parents, she is survived by maternal grandmother, Hope Rich and her husband Eugene, of Munfordville; maternal grandfather, Jason Long, of Glasgow; paternal grandmother, Laura Weslolowki and husband Kevin of Edmonson County; and paternal grandfather, Jeff Moran, of Butler County. Graveside services will 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at the family cemetery with Brother Randall Kessinger officiating. There will be no visitation. Sego Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Alma Katherine Strode
TOMPKINSVILLE — Alma Katherine Hagan Strode, 88, of Tompkinsville, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, while in the company of family members at Monroe County Medical Center.Katherine was born in Monroe County on Feb. 24, 1925, a daughter of the late Nora (Page) and Erie Hagan.On June 7, 1951, she married Ellsworth Strode. They were united in marriage at the home of Wendell and Lorine Froedge by C. E. Carter.
Katherine was a member of Hagan’s Grove Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She loved cooking, having company, working in her garden, keeping her house, piecing quilts and being a caregiver to many.
Katherine is survived by two daughters, Kathy Strode, of Tompkinsville, and Dianne Hogue, of Scottsville; and a son, R.V. and his wife, Sandy Strode, of Tompkinsville; seven grandchildren; Deanna Strode Taylor, Danetta Strode, Amanda Hogue Robertson, Valerie Poland Sweeny, Andrew Hogue, Bradley Poland and Amy Susan Hogue; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Chloe Bartley, of Tompkinsville; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends and loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Elder Ellsworth Strode; her parents, Erie and Nora Page Hagan; a son-in-law, Elder Paul Hogue; four brothers, Clifton, Robbie Odell, Dale and James Wendell; four sisters, Neva, Glaydell, Ruby and Sarah.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home with John Ford officiating. Burial is in Mount Zion Cemetery. Visitation is after 1 p.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Mount Zion Cemetery or Mud Lick Fire Department.
