TOMPKINSVILLE — James Harmon Hays, 85, of Tompkinsville, died Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.
He was born Aug. 15, 1928, in Monroe County, to the late Jack Hays and Ruie McPherson.
He was owner and operator of Hays Dental Laboratory and a member of Tompkinsville Church of Christ.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of Korean Conflict.
He was united in marriage on Aug. 8, 1953, to Dorothy Wimpy Hays who preceded him in death on Oct. 31, 2007.
He is survived by two daughters, Patty Rich, of Tompkinsville, Ruthie Jones of Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister, Cletra Head, of Tompkinsville; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. Joe Hays and Julius Hays.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 3 at 11 a.m. at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial to follow in White Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and after 7:30 a.m. on Thursday at Strode Funeral Home.
