GLASGOW — Sylvia Gentry Turner, 76, of Glasgow, formerly of the White Oak Ridge Community, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Barren County Healthcare in Glasgow.
She was born July 24, 1937, in Monroe County, to the late James Haskell Gentry and Lena Mae Green Gentry.
She was a retired factory worker and a member of White Oak Ridge Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Pam Gearlds and husband Phillip, of Glasgow, Kathy Turner, of Gamaliel; three sisters, Gertrude Meadows, of Louisville; Brenda Dyer, of Franklin, Sandra White, of Adolphus; five grandchildren, Kristy Sewell and husband Will, Jennifer Smith and husband B.J., Jonathan Gearlds and wife Bethany, Mandy Williams and Misty Sprowls and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Gentry and James Lester Gentry.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 11 at 11 a.m. at White Oak Ridge Baptist Church with burial to follow in White Oak Ridge Cemetery in Monroe County.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. on Thursday at Strode’s Gamaliel Chapel and after 9 a.m. on Friday at White Oak Ridge Baptist Church.
