GLASGOW — Frederick Elvin Barton

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Frederick Elvin Barton, 76, died Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Brighton Gardens in Brentwood, Tenn.

The youngest child and only son after four daughters, Fred was born on Sept. 20, 1936, on the family farm near South Fork Road in Barren County. Mr. Barton also built his own office building, the distinctive A-frame structure that stood on the corner of Main Street and the By-Pass. He was particularly proud to have performed renovations at both Glasgow’s Historic Fort Williams and the Jefferson Davis Monument in Fairview, Ky. During his career, he worked on more than 100 projects all across the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
