Donald Ray Combs
EDMONTON – Donald Ray Combs, 70, of Edmonton, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at NHC Healthcare Facility in Glasgow.
Born in Glasgow, he was a son of the late Rex and Laverne Greer Combs. Donald Ray was employed in construction and building maintenance and he was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his children, David Combs (Tina), of Edmonton, Sinika Fitch, of Killeen, Texas, Donald Ray Combs Jr. (Nikki), of Picayune, Miss., Donna Whitfield (Troy), of Picayune, Miss. and Tonya Brown, of Gulfport, Miss.; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six brothers, George (Mildred) Combs, of Florida, Gary A. (Marie) Combs, of Texas, Johnny (Sue) Combs, of Glasgow, Jimmy (Brandy) Combs, of Tompkinsville, Mike (Debra) Combs, of Glasgow and Bobby Joe (Sherry) Combs, of Park City; a sister, Linda Stewart (Roy), of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews and his poker buddy, Sadie Ennis.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Priscilla Fitch Combs; a sister, Mary Lou Emberton; and the mother of his children, Martha Isenberg.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Picayune Cemetery in Mississippi. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Monday.
James Lee ‘Jimmy’ Glass
AUSTIN – James Lee “Jimmy” Glass, 67, of Austin, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.
He was born at Lucas, the son of the late Herbert L. and Ruth Camille Reeves Glass. Jimmy was retired from the Brinco Company in Virginia and a former employee of Tyson in Glasgow, and was a veteran serving in the U. S. Navy. He was a former teacher at Barren County Area Vocational School and had attended First United Methodist Church in Glasgow.
Survivors include four daughters, Tina Glass (Harold Butler), of Glasgow, Tonya Stafford, of Glasgow and Whitney and Lauren Glass, of Virginia; two sisters, Virginia Houchens, of Austin, and Barbara Williams (Roy H.), of Lucas; six grandchildren, Jeremy, Heidi and Lindsey Bennett, Brooke Hume, and Coti and Haley Stafford; five great-grandchildren, Jackson Bennett, Grace Byrne, Cade Byrne, Maddox Lewis and Rylan Madewell, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Clara Louise Williams.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Caney Fork Cemetery with military honors provided by D.A.V. Chapter 20 of Glasgow. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Ward Dewhite Holley
GLASGOW – Ward Dewhite Holley, 76, of Glasgow, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at his home.
Born at Park City, he was the son of the late George and Ella Pryor Holley. Mr. Holley was self-employed and was a member of God’s House Assembly Church.
He is survived by eight children, Terry Holley and wife Martha, Patricia Carver and husband Kirk, Harry Holley and wife Kathy, Bill Holley, Gracie Busey, Mitchell Holley and wife Charity, Andy Holley and wife April and Ruth Holley, all of Glasgow; 28 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Opal V. Clarkson Holley; two sons, Samuel and James Holley and a brother, Charlie Moore Holley.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to his caregivers; Terry and Martha Holley and Hosparus.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at God’s House Assembly Church with burial in Houk Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home and continue Sunday morning at the church from 9 a.m. until time for the service.
Paul Hutchison Sr.
FOUNTAIN RUN – Paul Hutchison Sr., 77, of Fountain Run, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at The Medical Center in Bowling Green.
He was the husband of the late Laura Elizabeth Greer Hutchison, and son of the late Linzia Hutchison and Laura Cross Hutchison.
Visitation is in progress and will continue after 7:30 a.m. on Saturday at Strode’s Gamaliel Chapel in Gamaliel. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Neal Cemetery at Flippin. Memorials are suggested to Neal Cemetery.
Milton ‘Sock’ Kistler
MOUNT HERMON – Milton “Sock” Kistler, 76, of Mount Hermon, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at Monroe County Health Care and Rehab Center in Tompkinsville.
The Richland Center, Ind., native was born Dec.12, 1936, one of five children born to the late Wayne Coleman “Toad” Kistler and the late Margaret Foster Kistler. Also preceding him in death, was one sister, Martha Mantose. He married Dorcia Hood on Aug. 23, 1962, in Columbia, who survives.
“Sock” is also survived by one daughter, Lori Beth Kistler, of Mount Hermon; two brothers, Mark Weldon Kistler, of Twelve Mile, Ind., and Maurice Kip Kistler, of Indianapolis, Ind.; and one sister, Marcia Sue Bick, of Rochester, Ind.
“Sock” graduated from Richland Center High School and from Western New Mexico University in Silver City, New Mexico, playing basketball in both high school and college. In 1963, he started teaching at Richland Center and moved to Kentucky in 1968. He taught at Eastern Elementary in Barren County. He also served as guidance counselor at Temple Hill, Hiseville, and Austin Tracy Elementary Schools, retiring with 27 years with the Barren County School System.
Funeral service will be on Monday, Dec. 2, at 10 a.m., at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville. Visitation begins Sunday, Dec. 1, after 3:30 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be at Bethlehem Cemetery. Donations to Mud Lick Fire Department are requested.

Jerrel Dean Lane
FOUNTAIN RUN – Jerrel Dean Lane, 92, of Fountain Run, died Thursday Nov. 28, 2013, in Glasgow.
He was the son of the late Elijah Goodnight and Virgie Mae (Young) Creek, and husband of the late Lois Lane.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at Fountain Run Funeral Home with burial in Wood Cemetery. Visitation is in progress and will continue on Saturday after 8 a.m. until service time.
TOMPKINSVILLE – Reggie Lee Copas, 72, of Tompkinsville, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at his home. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville. Burial will be in Basil Cemetery in Tompkinsville. Memorials are suggested to Basil Cemetery.
BRANDENBURG – Wilma Jean Murray, 86, formerly of Munfordville, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at her son’s home in Brandenburg. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home with burial in Timberlake Cemetery.
