GLASGOW — Junior ‘J.V.’ Hawkins

BROWNSVILLE – Junior “J.V.” Hawkins, 87, of Brownsville, passed away Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, in Brownsville.

He was a World War II Navy veteran, a retired maintenance supervisor at Mammoth Cave National Park, a carpenter and member and deacon at Beaver Dam Chapel United Baptist Church.

The Edmonson County native was the son of the late James Riley Hawkins and the late Ada Buckingham Hawkins and the husband of Ruth Ray Hawkins.

He is survived by two sons, Dennis Hawkins (Mary), of Park City, and Larry Hawkins (Marsha) of Pig; six grandchildren, Tammy Atwell (Russell), Christy Dunn (Frank), Jarrod Hawkins (Beth), Laura Houchens (Chris), Jason Hawkins (Courtney) and Lisa Bale (Les) and seven great-grandchildren, Morgan Atwell, Alex Hawkins, Tyler Atwell, Julia Hawkins, Jackson Houchens, Alana Houchens and Ava Bale.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 and 9 to 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, at Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home with burial in Hawkins Cemetery.

Marvin ‘Bubba’ Wayne Perry

MUNFORDVILLE – Marvin “Bubba” Wayne Perry, 50, of Munfordville, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at his home in Munfordville.

He was the son of the late Henry Perry and the late Gladys Waggoner Perry.

The family received friends on Friday, Oct. 11, at Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville. Visitation will continue from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at Morning Star Baptist Church, Munfordville. Funeral service will be at Morning Star Baptist Church at 1 p.m. Saturday, with Rev. Warner Fishback and Rev. Keith Rowlett officiating. Interment will be at Perry Family Cemetery, Canmer.

CUB RUN – Loretta Burba, 83, of Cub Run, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at her residence in Cub Run. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Brooks Funeral Home. Interment will be in Union Light Cemetery, Mammoth Cave.

HORSE CAVE – Margaret Seymour Davis, 87, of Horse Cave, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Winn Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral service in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery.
