Joel Lee Percell
HORSE CAVE– Joel Lee Percell, 55, of Horse Cave, passed away Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.
He was a retired bindery operator at RR Donnelley and Sons. He was also a member of Horse Cave First Baptist Church where he served on the usher board, choir member and trustee. He was the son of the late Catherine P. Davis.
He is survived by five sisters: Jackie J. Davis, Glasgow, Ruth Carol Marks and husband Andrew, Nashville, Tenn., Beverly Perry and husband Clay, Munfordville, Meshellia Leonard and husband John, Garner, N.C., Leslie Schuschke and husband Dale, Prospect; two brothers, Danny Davis and wife Deborah, Glasgow, Neal Percell, Horse Cave. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is in progress at Brooks Funeral Home, Munfordville and will continue from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Horse Cave First Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Horse Cave First Baptist Church with Pastor Hugh Heater and Rev. Jamie Maxey officiating. Interment will be in Horse Cave Cemetery, Horse Cave.
Cleatus Carl Riggs
GLASGOW– Cleatus Carl Riggs, 54, of Glasgow, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at his home.
He was born in Hardin County and was a truck driver for Irving Materials Inc. He enjoyed farming and attended the Kirby Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Settles Riggs; his mother, Beatrice Riggs, of Glendale; a son, Christopher C. Riggs (Karen Lynn), of Mount Sherman; two daughters, Stacey Riggs, of Hodgenville and Kami Williams (Shaun), of Scottsville; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five brothers, Finous, Ronnie, Larry, David and Vernon Riggs and three sisters, Sheroney Hornback, Naomi Coogle and Marilyn Stewart, all of Hardin County. He was preceded in death by his father, Sherman Washington Riggs.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10 at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens on Saturday at 2 p.m.
