GLASGOW —  

Edna M. Johnson

SHEPHERDSVILLE – Edna M. Johnson, 88, of Shepherdsville, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at Highland Health and Rehab in Louisville.

She was the daughter of the late John W. Olds and Cordilla Bell Cardwell, and the wife of James Floyd Johnson, who survives.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Hardy and Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel, with burial in Rocky Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.



Alfreda Fay Spears Ray

GAMALIEL – Alfreda Fay Spears Ray, 75, of Gamaliel, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.

She is survived by her husband, Max Ray, of Gamaliel.

She was the daughter of the late Hobert McKinley Spears and Belle Branham Spears.

Visitation will be Wednesday after 4 p.m. at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Gamaliel Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or the American Kidney Foundation.



Fred Dale Reeves

GLASGOW – Fred Dale Reeves, 80, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012.

He was born on May 2, 1932, to the late Everett and Beatrice Curtis Reeves in Woodford County. Mr. Reeves was a public relations advisor for Barren County Rural Electric and a veteran of the United States Navy having served in the Korean War. He was a member and elder of First Christian Church in Glasgow. Mr. Reeves was the former president of the Rotary Club in Glasgow, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Optimist Club being named Optimist of the Year in 1965. He was also the president of the Christian Fellowship at the University of Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Heinmiller Reeves.

He is survived by his sisters, Lois Redden, of Lawrenceburg, Eileen Congleton, of Georgetown, and Glenda Montgomery, of Louisville; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a special friend, Martha Hurt, of Glasgow.

Graveside service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home in Versailles.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Ciara Brooke Taylor

GLASGOW – Ciara Brooke Taylor, 23, of Glasgow, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green, from injuries sustained in an auto accident.

Born in Glasgow, she is the daughter of Alvie B. Morgan and Tina Taylor Glass, both of Glasgow, who survive.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a son, Chase Taylor; a brother, Seth Glass, of Glasgow; maternal grandmother, Ruth Carpenter (Ivan), of Bowling Green; paternal grandmother, Mary Higgins Tucker, of Mountain Home, Idaho; great-grandmother, Gertrude Taylor, of Glasgow; a special friend, Donald Roddy, of Bowling Green; several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at A.F. Crow and Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mallie M. Underwood

GLASGOW – Mallie M. Underwood, 96, of Glasgow, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at NHC Health Care Facility in Glasgow.

The Barren County native was the daughter of the late John and Mary Peden Nuckols and wife of the late James Radford “Bubby” Underwood. She was a homemaker and a former school teacher and was a lifelong member of Temple Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by eight nieces, Beth Jones, Sue Howard, Joyce Propes, Jane Keys, Amye Toms, Diane Peters, Doris Smith and Jo Pedigo; and four nephews, Paul Lee Nuckols, Phil Nuckols, David Underwood and Brett Underwood.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at A.F. Crow and Son Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 until 8 p.m. and Thursday morning until time for the service.

GLASGOW – Bobby Jerry Glass, 66, of Glasgow, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at A.F. Crow and Son Funeral Home with burial in Glass Cemetery.



CANMER – Dorothy G. Melvin, 83, of Canmer, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at Glenview Nursing Home in Glasgow. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Pearl Webb Cemetery in Canmer.

 

MUNFORDVILLE – Elizabeth “Bette” Scott, 64, of Munfordville, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at her home in Munfordville.  Memorial services will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Munfordville Presbyterian Church. In memory of Elizabeth “Bette” Scott, donations may be made to the Hart County Public Library or the Munfordville Presbyterian Church. Sego Funeral Home, Munfordville, is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
