GLASGOW — Trina Marie Lawson
GLASGOW — Trina Marie Lawson, 36, of Glasgow, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at Western Kentucky University-Glasgow Campus.
Mrs. Lawson was born in Seattle, WA, on Sept. 13, 1976. She was attending Western Kentucky University and was an employee of Walmart of Glasgow.
Survivors include her husband, Rick Lawson, of Glasgow; three children, Naomi Lawson, Travis Stockmoe and Seth Lawson, all of Glasgow; her mother, Roberta Eich (Robert), of Glasgow; her father, Rick Stevenette (Robyn) of Spokane, WA; maternal grandmother, Dee Defevers (Mike) of Glasgow; four brothers, Trevor Eich (Brandi) of Munfordville, Barry Eich, Chip Eich and Daniel Eich, all of Topeka, KS; her father and mother-in-law, Robert and Karen Lawson, of Merrillville, IN; two brothers-in-law, Vernon Lawson of Schillville, IN, and Chris Lawson of Merrillville, IN; godparents, Dan and Leslie McNab, of Gig Harbor, WA; several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Lawson chose cremation.
Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the National Marfan Foundation, 22 Manhasset Avenue, Port Washington, NY 11050.
John A. Matthews
ALVATON — John A. Matthews, 68, of Alvaton, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at his residence.
A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late B.F. and Bess Beam Matthews. He was a retired journeyman electrician with Logan Aluminum.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Walton Matthews; three sons: John A. “Jack” Matthews II and wife Liz of Fort Wayne, IN, Ben Matthews and his fiancée Tahnee White of Fairplay, MD, and Will Matthews and wife Kasey of Alvaton; twin 3-year-old grandchildren, John Roger and Karen Matthews; two brothers: Billy Matthews and wife Carolyn of Glasgow, and Tommy Matthews and wife Linda of Hiseville; two sisters: Nancy Richardson of Glasgow and Madonna Young and husband Mike of Etoile; several nieces and nephews, along with several young men that were special friends and affectionately known by him as the “Possum Hill Boys.”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a special young man he considered to be like a son, David Waddell.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 12 noon Thursday at the funeral home.
Jesse Ray McDonald
GLASGOW – Jesse Ray McDonald, 76, of Glasgow, and formerly of Monroe County, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.
He was born Nov. 23, 1935, in Monroe County, to the late Porter Ray McDonald and Lura Creola Clark McDonald. He was a retired print binder, a member of the Church of Christ and a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by three sisters: Maxine Jolly of Glasgow, Lana Robertson of Bowling Green, and Cheri Feist of Orlando, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Strode’s Gamaliel Chapel in Gamaliel with burial to follow in Gamaliel Cemetery. Military rites will be performed at graveside by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
MUNFORDVILLE — Marina Joann Berry, 61, of Munfordville, died Oct. 21, 2012, at The Medical Center in Bowling Green. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brooks Funeral Home.
GLASGOW — George Arthur Gorby, 91, of Glasgow, died Sunday, October 21, 2012, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time for the service. A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
GLASGOW — Evelyn Wright Houchens, 73, of Glasgow died Sunday, October 21, 2012, at her home. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation is in progress.
