GLASGOW — Mearl D. Harrison

GLASGOW – Mearl D. Harrison, 72, of Glasgow, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at Hospice House in Bowling Green.

He was born in Monroe County, the son of the late Lee and Flora Goad Harrison. Mr. Harrison was retired from the Army National Guard of KY, A Btry., 1st BN 623rd FA and was a veteran of Desert Storm.

He is survived by his wife, Eva Lane Harrison; one son, David Harrison, of Glasgow; two daughters, Sherri Parker (Joseph) of Glasgow and Lori Bower (Daniel) of Indiana; four grandchildren, Tara Abston (Michael), Spenser Harrison, Alex Bower and Kyla Bower; two great-grandchildren, Alexia and Emily Abston; two sisters, Vivian Cleary of Tompkinsville and Ersie Hurt of Indiana.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew Bower, and a sister, Etta Odle.

Funeral services will be 1p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in  Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday.

Mary Frances Lane

SMITHS GROVE – Mary Frances Lane, 76, of Smiths Grove, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.

She was the daughter of the late Willie and Alma Mudd Robertson.  

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in Seven Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.  

She is survived by two sons, Danny Lane of Smiths Grove and Roger Lane of Park City, two daughters, Violet Hicks of Smiths Grove and Joyce Gill of Bowling Green; five grandchildren, Kevin Lane, Jennifer Gill, Johnny Hicks, Laura Hicks and Michael Gill; three great-grandchildren, Ashley Vibbert, Christopher Gill and Keely Gill also survive.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lane, and one brother, James Lee Robertson.

Charlotte Joy Pierce

LOUISVILLE – Charlotte Joy Pierce, 83, of Louisville, died Oct. 5, 2012, at Georgetown Manor Nursing Home in Louisville.

She was the daughter of the late Charles Brown and Flossie Wetherford Brown and the wife of the late Howard Pierce.

Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 8:30 p.m. at Sego Funeral Home with cremation to follow.

Larry Webb

MUNFORDVILLE – Larry Webb, 62, of Munfordville, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.

He was employed by Woodmen of the World, a member of Caveland Country Club and Woodman Lodge 939. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a Baptist.

He was the son of the late J.W. Webb and the late Ella Webb.

He is survived by his wife: Marsha Stinson Webb; three daughters: Natalie N. Webb (Bradley P. Williams),  of Glasgow, Abby L. Cook (Brandon C.), of Munfordville, and Ashley L. Lowe (Andrew W.), Clarksville, TN; two brothers: Danny W. Webb, of Glasgow, and James M. Webb, of Junction City, KS; and two grandchildren: Annika L. Lowe and Anderson W. Lowe.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandsons: Zachariah Cook and Christian Cook, as well as two sisters: Patsy Caroline Webb and Diana Webb.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 7, at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 7, at Brooks Funeral Home with Brother Gerald Murphy and Brother Lonnie Sheets officiating. Interment will be at Munfordville Municipal Cemetery, Munfordville. Memorial donations can be made to the March of Dimes.



CAVE CITY — Joyce Cassady Chism, 66, of Cave City, died at Glenview Nursing Home in Glasgow, Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012. Visitation is noon to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at Patton Funeral Home, Park City Chapel. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.

SUMMER SHADE – Marcella Vibbert Dodson, 61, of Summer Shade, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at Monroe County Medical Center. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will continue through Saturday at the funeral home. ELIZABETHTOWN — William Patrick Owsley, 63, died Wednesday Oct. 3, 2012, at his residence. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Severns Valley Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday and continue Sunday after 10 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home.
