GLASGOW — Clarine Miller Smith

GLASGOW – Clarine Miller Smith, 72, of Glasgow, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, May 8, 2013.

She was born July 11, 1940, in Glasgow, the daughter of the late George and Dissie Walden Miller. She was a loving wife, mom, mother-in-law, grandma and great-grandma. “We were blessed to have her in our lives. She was loved by many.” Mrs. Smith was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Darrell Hill, of Glasgow; three granddaughters, Candace Hill and Nakita Saltsman, both of Glasgow, and Carmen McVane, of Wisconsin; two grandsons, Danny and Aaron Smith, of Wisconsin; 13 great-grandchildren, all of Wisconsin; two brothers, Jay Harold Miller and Ernest Miller, both of Glasgow; two uncles, Reverend Earl Miller, of Glasgow and Kenneth Miller, of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Aaron E. Smith; a stepson, Danny Smith; and two brothers, Johnny and James Miller.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Friday.

Harold G. White

GLASGOW – Harold G. White, 75, of Glasgow, formerly of Monroe County, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.

Born Aug. 12, 1937, he was the son of the late Burl and Estella Emberton White. Mr. White was a veteran of the United States Army, retired from R.R. Donnelley and was owner-operator of Frames Plus Frame Shop. Harold was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his companion and caregiver, Velva Gentry White; two sons, Shannon White and wife Tonya and Shane White and wife Amanda; grandchildren, Danielle, Chelsey, Brennan and Mary Brantley White; a sister-in-law, Barbara Glenn; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Copas and Mabel Willoughby.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery with military honors provided by D.A.V. Chapter 20 of Glasgow. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Friday.

GLASGOW – Ephraim A. Berry, 91, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Glasgow Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home in Glasgow with burial at Happy Valley Memorial Gardens in Glasgow. Alternate expressions of sympathy and support may be made in the form of donations to the American Heart Association.
