GLASGOW – Ephraim Berry, 91, of Glasgow, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Glasgow Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but under the direction of Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
Willard (Bill) Brewster
EDMONTON – Willard (Bill) Brewster, 92, of Edmonton, died Monday, May 6, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.
He was a farmer and a son of the late Andy and Nanny Westmoreland Brewster. He was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by one son, Roger (Nancy) Brewster, of Florida; one brother, Ray (Betty) Brewster, of Summer Shade; grandchildren, Jerry Brewster Jr., William Daniel Brewster, Amy Lynn Brewster; great-grandchildren, Tylor Brewster, Zachary Brewster, Jeremy Vettraino, Brooklyn and Jessica Thomas, Branden and Chad Kessinger and Ashley and Megan Wauh; nieces and nephews, Sue Froedge, Patty Dodson and Tim Brewster.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Ooten Brewster, as well as one sister, Florence Dickens, and four brothers, Claude, Albert, Odie and Roy Brewster.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at Happy Valley Memorial Gardens in Glasgow. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home.
Carl L. Bunch Jr.
GLASGOW – Carl L. Bunch Jr., 58, of Glasgow, passed away on May 4, 2013, at his residence.
Carl was born on Nov. 21, 1954, in El Paso, Texas. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Anna Lee Rose Bunch, and his parents, Carol and Margaret Bunch, as well as a sister, Ellie Lamb.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth A. Bunch, and his beloved pet, Bailey; two daughters, Sharlotte Tellez and son-in-law, Eddie Tellez and Melissa Mendoza and son-in-law, Jessie Mendoza; two sisters, Caroline Shafar and Evelyn Duffy; as well as six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Carl’s wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Shepherd House Church at 7464 Edmonton Road, Glasgow.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Barren County Animal Shelter, 175 Trojan Trail, Glasgow, KY 42141.

CANMER – Forest Carroll, 87, of Canmer, died Monday, May 6, 2013, at his home in Canmer.
Forest was born Feb. 7, 1926, to the late Floyd and Katherine Stinson Carroll.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Louise Logsdon Carroll.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday with Brother Barry Devine officiating. Burial will be in Pearl Webb Cemetery.
Carl David Jackson
MOOREVILLE, Miss. – Carl David Jackson, 65, died Monday, May 6, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 9, 1947, in Barren County to Paul and Wanda Jackson.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Jackson, of Mooreville.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Andrews Chapel Methodist Church with Brother Sammy Washburn and Brother Robert McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in Andrews Chapel Cemetery. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Andrew Chapel Cemetery Fund.
James Cecil Jessie
SCOTTSVILLE – James Cecil Jessie, 68, of Scottsville, died Monday, May 6, 2013, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
Born in Barren County, he was the son of the late James Curtis and Beatrice Bush Jessie.
Survivors include his wife, Omie Sloan Jessie, of Scottsville; five sons, Dewey Jessie, of Scottsville, Wally Jessie, of Scottsville, Eric Jessie, of Greensburg, James Darren Jessie, of Illinois, and Aubrey Jessie, of Lebanon; five daughters, Dana Jackson, of Scottsville, Vicky Nason, of Cave City, Jowanna Thompson, of Campbellsville, Rhonda Jessie, of Campbellsville, and Tawanna Louge, of Illinois; two sisters, Polly Slayton, of Glasgow, and Rita Thomas, of Austin; three brothers, Leo Jessie, of Glasgow, Daryle Jessie, of Edmonton, and Ricky Jessie, of Knob Lick; 24 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Wright and Judy Clark, and a brother, David Powell Jessie.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Dora Mae Richey
MORRISTOWN, Tenn. – Dora Mae Beckham Richey, of Morristown, Tenn., formerly of Smiths Grove, met her Lord and Savior at 3:20 p.m., May 5, 2013, surrounded by her sons.
The Warren County, Ky., native was born Dec. 18, 1928, and was lovingly known to her family and friends as “Mama Mae.” She was a life-long member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Warren County, was a homemaker and retired seamstress from Union Underwear “The Derby” in Bowling Green.
She was the daughter of Leslie Beckham and Elizabeth Kate VanDora Tabor Beckham. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Milton Boone Richey, and daughter, Sheila Gay Richey Orange.
Survivors include sons, Larry Richey and wife Mary-Garnett, of Scottsville, Steven Richey and wife Renai, of Morristown, Tenn., and James Richey and special friend Tina Mingee, of Knoxville, Tenn.; sister, Louise Payne, of Glasgow, seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and extended family members.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Thursday until the 1 p.m. Celebration of Life service at Hardy and Son Funeral Home, Smiths Grove (Ky.) Chapel. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Edward A. Smith
JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. – Edward A. Smith, 59, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away Jan. 24, 2013, at his home.
Edward was born in Glasgow, on Feb. 11, 1953. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Hilary and Maxie Bush Smith, as well as his beloved aunt, Beatrice Smith, and other family members.

PARK CITY – Frank W. Furlong Jr., 83, of Park City, died Saturday, May 4, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Old Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be after 12 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
NOBOB – Elzie (Big Dee) Lawson, 64, of Nobob, died Sunday, May 5, 2013, at the Palace in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. CAVE CITY – Larry Floyd Riordan, 60, of Cave City, died Friday, May 3, 2013, at his home. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home with cremation to follow. Visitation continues after 9 a.m. Friday.
GLASGOW – Ochell L. Tuck, 94, Glasgow, died Sunday, May 5, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Hayes Cemetery, near Lafayette, Tenn., at 3:30 p.m. Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
