HORSE CAVE — Shirley Coffey Bryant, 68 of Horse Cave, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013, at her home.
She was born in Taylor County and loved flowers, playing bingo and enjoyed the company of her friends and family. She retired from Dart Container in 2008.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Coffey and Helen McKinney Coffey; one granddaughter, Crystal Trowbridge; one sister, Brenda Robertson; two brothers, Leo Coffey and Lincoln Coffey; three infant brothers and three infant sisters.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Charles Bryant, of Horse Cave; daughter Jan Johnson and husband Mickey, of Horse Cave; three sons, Dewayne Bryant and wife Sherri, of Greensburg, Les Bryant and wife Brandi, of Cave City, Dennis (Buck) Jaggers, of Greensburg; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, William (Fats) Coffey and wife Correll, of Greensburg, Jay Coffey and wife, Lorene, of Greensburg, Roger Coffey, of Glasgow; sister, Genevieve Nunn, of Glagsow, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home with burial in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. Monday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
FOUNTAIN RUN — Rossie Carver, 83, of Fountain Run, died Sunday at his home. His arrangements are incomplete, but are under the direction of A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.
GLASGOW — Tessa Ellen Almagrace Casteel, 14, of Glasgow, died Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital after a short illness.
She was born in Oldham County, Jan. 16, 1999. Tessa was an eighth grade student at Barren County Middle School and attended Poplar Log Church of Christ. She loved going to her Ag class and riding horses.
She is survived by her parents, Randy and Laura Napier Casteel; a sister, Maggie Casteel; a brother, John Robert Casteel, both at home; and her paternal grandfather, Enimuce Casteel, of Glasgow. She is also survived and loved by several aunts, uncles and cousins of the Casteel and Napier families. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Audrey Casteel, and her maternal grandparents, Billy John and Phyllis Napier.
A celebration of life service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, March 28, at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Poplar Log Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to: Tessa Casteel Benefit Fund in care of Edmonton State Bank.
