GLASGOW — Gerald Dewayne Gossett

CAVE CITY – Gerald Dewayne Gossett, 56, of Cave City, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013, in Glasgow.

The Barren County native was the son of the late James Russell Gossett and the late Agnes Marie Harvey Gossett. He was an electrician and HVAC tech and attended Guiding Light Church.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Riddle Gossett, of Cave City; one son, Jason Gossett (Jennifer), of Cave City; one granddaughter, Jessica Gossett, and one expected granddaughter, Joanna Gossett, both of Cave City; four sisters, Margaret Gossett and Rita Gossett, both of Cave City; Brenda Anderson (Tony), of Columbus, Ind., and Sandy Pedigo (Wesley), of Cave City; four brothers, Donnie Gossett (Betty), of Horse Cave, Floyd Gossett, Sherman Gossett and Steve Gossett, all of Cave City; mother-in-law, Joyce Riddle, of Knob Lick.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Edward Gossett and Henry Wayne Gossett; and his father-in-law, Joe Riddle.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 14,  and 9 a.m. until time of the funeral service on Monday, July 15, at Patton Funeral Home, Park City Chapel. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 15, at the funeral home with burial in Cave City Cemetery.



Judy K. Walker

GLASGOW – Judy K. Walker, 64, of Glasgow, died Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green.

Born in Barren County, she was the daughter of the late Chester Guy Emmit Sr. and Verda Kate Thomas Emmitt. Mrs. Walker was a licensed practical nurse with Hart County Health Care and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband, Carl Walker; two sons, Chris Walker and wife Sara and Jason Walker and wife Michele, all of Glasgow; two stepdaughters, Donna Winchester and Pam Neal, of Glasgow; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn Starr Walker, Hailey Walker, Travis Walker, Dakota Walker and Gracie Walker; four stepgrandchildren, Amanda Ballard, Ashley Ballard, Hailey Neal and Tyler Neal; one brother, Jerry Emmitt and wife Shelia, of Edmonton; two step-great-grandchildren along with a special friend of 49 years, Linda Conrad.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Chester Guy Emmitt Jr., Jackie Daryl Emmitt and Gary Michael Emmitt.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July13, 2013, at Clack-Emmitt Cemetery. There will be no visitation. A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

SMITHS GROVE – Mae C. Alexander, 97, of Smiths Grove, died Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Edmonson Health & Rehab. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Rocky Hill Cemetery. INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Thelma Jones, 92, of Indianapolis, formerly of Monroe County, died Wednesday, July 10, 2013. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home, 510 Fourth St., Tompkinsville. Burial will be in Monroe County Memorial Lawn Cemetery. BOWLING GREEN – Harold D. Rector, 88, of Bowling Green, died Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, at Hardy & Son Funeral Home Bowling Green Chapel with burial in Smiths Grove Cemetery.



HORSE CAVE – Paul Huston Sears, 63, of Horse Cave, died Sunday, July 7, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Friendship Baptist Church in Horse Cave with burial in Pleasant Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Cave City. Watts & Percell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
