Helen Jenene Garmon Brown
KNOB LICK – Helen Jenene Garmon Brown, 68, of Knob Lick, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Sky Rehab in Bowling Green.
She was the daughter of the late Herbert and Ruby Byrd Garmon.
She is survived by three daughters, Lisa Eudy, and husband Gary and Lucille Coomer, all of Glasgow, and Jennifer Calhoun, of Knob Lick; one son, Paul Brown, of Knob Lick; one sister, Marie (Kenneth) Garmon, of Glasgow; three brothers, Jr. Garmon, Arvest (Diane) Garmon and Doug (Loretta) Garmon, all of Knob Lick. She is also survived by a special friend and caregiver, Benji Bennett; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Brown; a son, Marshall Brown; and three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, June 15, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton, with burial in Locust Grove Cemetery. Visitation is in progress and will continue after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mabel L. Burd
HORSE CAVE – Mabel L. Burd, 91, of Horse Cave, passed away at 9:38 a.m. Wednesday June 13, 2012, at Caverna Memorial Hospital.
She was a Hart County native, a housewife and a long-time member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church at Uno.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen Ellis and Eunice Irvin Ellis; her husband, Macy Burd; two sons, Tommy and Gill Burd; a grandson, Richie Burd; two great-grandsons, Cody Wayne and Collin Thomas Burd; and by one sister, Lela Mae Vance.
She is survived by a grandson, Dwight Burd and his wife Tammy, of Glasgow; six great-grandchildren, Catherine, Cyndi, Jack and Nick Burd, and Tyler and Paige Burd; a daughter-in-law, Donna Gore Burd, of Oldsmar, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Clara Burd, of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday June 16, 2012, in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home with burial to follow in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation at Winn Funeral Home from 10:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday and after 8 a.m. until funeral time on Saturday. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
