Lawrence William Groce
GLASGOW – Lawrence William Groce, 73, of Glasgow, died Friday, May 3, 2013, at his home.
He was born in Barren County, the son of the late Lawrence Wesley Groce and Audrey Kathryn Slaughter Groce. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Louise Buckley Groce.
Lawrence was a farmer and a former employee of the Malone & Hyde Company. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army and was a member of Temple Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Kathy Werner and husband Kevin, of Glasgow; three grandchildren, Monica Winchester and husband Shane, Kelli Pennycuff and husband Eric and Corbin Werner, all of Glasgow; three great-grandchildren, Alec Pennycuff, Cole and Lola Winchester; one sister, Charlotte McGuire and husband Larry, of Glasgow; an uncle, Seth Thomas Groce and wife Eugenia, of Glasgow; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Poplar Log Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday.
Morris Lane ‘Bubby’ Hensley
EDMONTON – Morris Lane “Bubby” Hensley, 69, of Edmonton, died Friday, May 3, 2013, at his home.
He was the son of the late Edwin and Eugenia King Hensley.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Smith Hensley; two sons, Eddie and wife Debbie Hensley, and Moe and wife Erica Hensley, all of Summer Shade; one special son, Phillip Smith, of Edmonton; four grandchildren, Brad and wife Mary Mae, Derek, Max and Tatum, all of Summer Shade; one special grandchild, Tony Tinsley; one great-grandson, Bryson Lee Hensley; one sister, Linda Hensley, of Louisville; five nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Marion Byrd Hensley, and his father and mother-in-law, Robert and Helen Smith.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in White Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Saturday and after 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
