Nancy Jean Sweatt Booker
SMITHS GROVE – Nancy Jean Sweatt Booker, 79, of Smiths Grove, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
She was the daughter of the late Eugene Thomas and Nancy Mabry Sweatt, and wife of the late Harold G. Booker.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Smiths Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Grove Chapel, with burial in Smiths Grove Cemetery.
Nora Frances Button
GLASGOW – Nora Frances Button, 90, Glasgow, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.
A daughter of the late Zachariah and Lena Herndon Duvall, she was a homemaker and a member of Harlow’s Chapel Baptist Church. She was the widow of the late Horace Button Sr.
She is survived by her son, Horace Button Jr., of Glasgow, along with several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Virginia Tubbs, Katie Brown and Mollie Boyde; and by two brothers, Paul Duvall and Judge Duvall.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Barber Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
EDMONTON – Debbie Froedge, 54, of Edmonton, departed this world to be with her heavenly Father Tuesday, April 30, 2013, as the result of an automobile accident.
Debbie was a devoted Christian woman who loved her Lord and her family. Debbie was a member of Trinity Christian Outreach Church.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Brother Freddie Froedge; one son, Josh Froedge and wife Amy; one daughter, Teresa Firkins and husband Eddie; two grandchildren, Lucas and Logan Firkins; two step-grandchildren, Robbie and Sonny Sanders, all of Edmonton; her mother, Ruby Froedge, of Edmonton; two brothers, J.D. and wife Lisa Bragg, of Glasgow; Eddie Eldridge, of Edmonton; three sisters, Barbara and husband Rondal Boston, of Mount Sterling, Brenda and husband Steve Paronto, of Edmonton, Carol and husband Terry Taylor, of Hartford City, Ind. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Eulis Bragg; a sister, Sandra Eldridge; grandparents, Dewey and Leo Fields, John and Mary Bragg; a nephew, Sgt. Eric Toth, and niece, Heather Bragg.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Steve A. (Jolly Bear) Jolly
CAVE CITY – Steve A. (Jolly Bear) Jolly, 57, of Cave City, passed away Wednesday May 1, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital emergency room.
Steve was a Barren County native, and had retired after 20 years with the Barren-Metcalfe E.M.S. He was currently a Barren County Constable in the 6th District, a former Barren County Deputy Sheriff, former Fire Chief of the Cave City Volunteer Fire Department, a past employee of the Cave City Water and Sewer Department, a very active community volunteer, active with the Caverna Band and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Willis Jolly Sr. and Virginia Joiner Jolly.
He is survived by his wife, Reva Dennison Jolly, of Cave City; his daughter, Amy Marie Jolly, of Glasgow, and his grandson, Jacob Allen Jolly, of Glasgow; two brothers, Ernest Willis Jolly Jr. and his wife Mary, of Cave City, and Robert Paul Jolly, also of Cave City; two nephews, Joey Jolly, of Cave City, and Chad Jolly and wife Julie, of Cave City; one niece, Tiffany Jolly, of Smiths Grove; also a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Basil Chapel United Baptist Church under direction of Winn Funeral Home, Horse Cave, with burial to follow in Cave City Cemetery.
Visitation at Winn Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. until funeral time on Sunday at the Church.
Expressions of sympathy in his honor may be made in the form of contributions to the Steve A. Jolly Trust Fund that will be used to further civic activities. Contributions may be sent to any Edmonton State Bank Branch.
MUNFORDVILLE – Steve Borders, 62, of Munfordville, died Sunday, April 28, 2013, at his residence. The family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Brooks Funeral Home. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
BEECHVILLE – Henry B. Harris Jr, 80, of the Beechville community of Metcalfe County, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at The Medical Center in Bowling Green. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in Sulphur Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
GLASGOW – Mary Beatrice Kinslow, 85, of Glasgow, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Friday from 10 a.m. until time for the service.
GLASGOW – Nanetta Faye “Nan” Wright, 57, of Glasgow, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation is in progress at the funeral home.
