Rosie Lee Coe
TOMPKINSVILLE – Rosie Lee Coe, 67, of Tompkinsville, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Monroe County Medical Center. Rosie was born in Tompkinsville, on Aug. 31, 1945, a daughter of the late Mertie (Tooley) and Mitchell Shirley. She was a member of the Milltown Baptist Church and had been a housekeeper in Louisville.
Rosie is survived by a sister, Vanna Bennett, of Tompkinsville; a brother, Mitchell Shirley, of Tompkinsville, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at Mount Nebo Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, with Mike Turner officiating.
George Edward Guttschalk
PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – George Edward Guttschalk, 81, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Feb. 5, 2013, at Tidewell Hospice House in Port Charlotte after a long battle with prostate cancer.
George was the son of George and Florence Guttschalk, born Dec. 20, 1931 in Willoughby, Ohio. George graduated from Willoughby Union High School (class of ’49) and Bowling Green State University (class of ’56) where he received his degree in Industrial Management and Marketing. While at Bowling Green, George was a member of Alpha Sigma Phi and also served in the Army Corps of Engineers, stationed in Germany. George had a vast professional career which traversed him and his family to live and work in seven states. He held many management and executive management positions with several companies, including Eaton Corporation, Clark Equipment Company, Wylain Corporation (Friedrich Group) and was most recently an Executive Vice President of Operations at Redman Homes. George retired in 1996 and moved with wife Judy to Punta Gorda where he enjoyed boating and spending time with friends. He was also involved in community organizations including Burnt Store Isles Association, Burnt Store Isles Boat Club, TEAM Punta Gorda, and the Punta Gorda Boaters Alliance where he was instrumental in the Punta Gorda waterfront development project. Other notable achievements include co-author of “Effective Management – A Humanistic Perspective,” president of the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, and a Kentucky Colonel.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy; his daughters, Sherry (Tony) Williams, Lucas, Ky., Joy (David) Filchock, Mentor, Ohio, Lori (Russell) Power, Clayton, N.C., Terri (Chris) Wendel, Cape Coral, Fla.; his grandchildren, Andrew and Haley Boeckelmann, Katelynn and Marissa Filchock, Lauren and Kristin Power, Christopher and Dakota Wendel.
A family service and burial at sea will be held at a later date. Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services, Punta Gorda, Fla., is in charge of the arrangements.

Weldon Dallas Shepherd
BOWLING GREEN – Weldon Dallas Shepherd, 80, of Bowling Green, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at his residence. He was the son of the late Luther Shepherd and Ivy Amos Shepherd, and husband of Zella Mae Rogers Shepherd, who survives.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb 11, 2013, at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel, with burial in Fairview Cemetery #2.
Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

GLASGOW – Mattie L. Smith, 76, of Glasgow, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at the Medical Center at Bowling Green. Arrangements are incomplete but are under the direction of the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.
Bessie Reba Wright
BOWLING GREEN – Bessie Reba Wright, 70, of Bowling Green, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin Wright and Lucille Riddle Wright, and wife of the late Paul F. Adkison Sr.
Cremation was chosen. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel.
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – Edward Jackson “Jack” Alexander, 90, of Mount Pleasant, S.C. died Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at The Hospice Center in Mount Pleasant, S.C. Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery. In case of inclement weather, the service will be at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville. Visitation will be after 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home until service time.
MOUNT AUBURN, Ill. – Nina Eva Creek Gisinger, 97, of Mount Auburn, Ill., died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at Meadowood Nursing Home in Grayville. Visitation and funeral are scheduled for Saturday at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. with burial at Isenberg Cemetery in Monroe County.

BOWLING GREEN – Raymond Earl Logsdon, 87, of Bowling Green, died Tuesday, Feb 5, 2013, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Neal’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4 until 8 p.m. and Saturday morning until time for the service.
