GLASGOW — Barbara J. Wheeler

GLASGOW – Barbara J. Wheeler, 75, of Glasgow, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.

She was born April 30, 1937, in Glasgow. Barbara was a member and former Elder at Glasgow First Presbyterian Church. She had been employed at the Kentucky Pants Factory for many years and later Sumitomo Electrical Wiring in Edmonton where she retired.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Bryant Wheeler; a son, Steve Wheeler; her mother, Katie Maude Smith; and two brothers, James L. Smith and Charles “Billy” Smith.

She is survived by her five sons, Gary Wheeler (Tammy), Mark Wheeler (Wanda), Tim Wheeler (Susan), Matt Wheeler (Becky) and Bruce Wheeler (Christie), all of Glasgow; 13 grandchildren, Justin Wheeler (Amanda), Aaron Wheeler (Sara), Wendy Wheeler, Stacy Wheeler Clark (Kent), Mandy Wheeler Morrison (Dustin), Jeremy Wheeler, Jessica Wheeler Robertson (Brian), Chris Riddle, Ruth Ford, Steven Wheeler, Cory Wheeler, Cole Wheeler and Cate Wheeler; seven great-grandchildren, Destiny, Gabriel, Laney, Mailey, Alexis, Landon and Parker; two sisters, Martha Blakley (Arnold) and Maryline Woodie (Rocky), of Glasgow and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Caney Fork Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday.

   

Howard Eugene Wiley

ANDERSON, Ind. – Howard Eugene Wiley, 79, of Anderson, passed away Jan. 12, 2013, at his residence in Anderson.

He was born on June 6, 1933 in Glasgow, and resided most of his life in Anderson.

Howard graduated from Anderson Business College. He retired from Indiana Gas Company in 1990 after 34 years of service. He was a member and a Deacon at Ovid Community Church. He was a Korean War veteran. He loved to hunt and liked to fish at Okeechobee, Fla. He also loved to walk, play ping pong, shoot pool, and basketball. He was always involved with the maintenance at the church.

Howard is survived by his loving spouse whom he married Sept. 14, 1953, Mary (Brown) Wiley, of Anderson, Ind; daughter, Eugenia “Jeanie” Lynn (David) Zablocki, of St. Clair, Mich.; granddaughter, Leah Eugenia Haynes; grandson, Nicholas John Haynes; siblings, Harley (Delzie) Wiley, Summer Shade, Lorene Taylor, Glasgow, Marjorie Maggard, Kokomo, John (Hazel) Wiley, Anderson and Maryjane (Harold) Taylor, Bowling Green; brother in-law, Ray Powell; and sister in-law, Ruth Ann Powell of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews; and his extended family at Ovid Community Church.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Connie Lou Wiley; mother, Beulah Mae (Bartley) Wiley; and father, Howard Wiley; brothers in-law, Elmus Taylor and Bill Maggard.

Funeral services were Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Ovid Community Church. Pastor Keith Wooden officiated. Burial took place in Memorial Park Cemetery. Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory was in charge of the arrangements.
