GLASGOW — Donald J. ‘Don’ Dorociak

HORSE CAVE – Donald J. “Don” Dorociak, 74, of Horse Cave, died Sunday, June 9, 2013, in Park City.

The Chicago, Ill., native was the son of the late Alex Dorociak and the late Bertha Herman Dorociak. He was the owner of Parkland Motel in Park City and Village Inn in Horse Cave and Horse Cave Investments, a Vietnam and Korean Army veteran, fire chief, EMT and rescue diver in Knollwood, Ill., and a member of the American Legion and Saint Mels Parish in Chicago, Ill.

He is survived by one daughter, Victoria Ann Dorociak, of Chicago, Ill.; one brother, Michael Dorociak, of Chicago, Ill.; two cousins, Michelle Marceau-DiFate (Michael), of Connecticut, and Paul Marceau, of California; one godson, Elijah Jorgenson, of Cave City.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Alex Dorociak; one granddaughter, Madison Elizabeth Dorociak-Saunders; one stepson, Scott Thomas Stoklasa; and one stepdaughter, Tracy Lynn Stoklasa.

The funeral service was private and under the direction of Patton Funeral Home, Park City Chapel.



Donald Hammer

GLASGOW – Donald Hammer, 54, of Glasgow, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013, while in the company of family members, at his home.

Donald was born in Glasgow, on Oct. 10, 1958, a son of Nita (Rowland) Hammer, who survives, and the late Truman Hammer.

On May 28, 1977, at Pleasant Hill Church, he married Regina (Graves) Hammer, who survives him.

He was retired from Dana Corporation in Glasgow. He was of the Baptist faith.

Donald is survived by two daughters, Brandi, and her husband David Kessler, of Owensboro, and Kaylin, and her husband Kelby Graves, of Tompkinsville; a son, Troy, and his wife Brie Hammer, of Cincinnati, Ohio; five grandchildren, Jace Kessler, Kendall Kessler, Bryleigh Hammer, Lilah Hammer, and one granddaughter due in October.

Donald is also survived by five sisters, Carolyn Page, of Summer Shade, Marilyn Shaw, of Glasgow, Rita Grider, of Tompkinsville, Pam Cleary, of Tompkinsville, and Teena Emmert, of Tompkinsville; and a brother, Rondall Hammer, of Summer Shade.

Funeral services will be conducted at Yokley Trible Funeral Home at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, with Doug Tooley and Rondall Hammer officiating.

Visitation is in progress and will continue Saturday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Monroe County Memorial Lawn.

In lieu of flowers, family suggest donations be made to Hammer Hero’s for the American Cancer Society.



Larry Wayne McPherson

TOMPKINSVILLE– Larry Wayne McPherson, 65, of Tompkinsville, passed away suddenly, Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Monroe County Medical Center.

Larry was born in Tompkinsville, Dec. 12, 1947, a son of the late Olene (Wade) and Reed McPherson.

On June 29, 1968, in Celina, Tenn., he married Sandra (Shirley) McPherson, who survives.

He was a member of Mount Gilead Church of Christ.

He is survived by a daughter, Amy Daniel, of Mount Washington; two sons, Jeff McPherson, of Lafayette, Tenn., and Kerry McPherson, of Tompkinsville; six grandchildren, Trey McPherson, Ashley McPherson, Trace McPherson, Peyton Daniel, Logan McPherson and Marisa Daniel; two brothers, Michael and Ronnie McPherson, of Tompkinsville.

Funeral services will be conducted at Yokley Trible Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, with Tim McHenry officiating.

Visitation is Saturday, June 15, from 4 to 9 p.m. and Sunday 6 a.m. to noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Monroe County Memorial Lawn. 

Annetta Vibbert

GLASGOW – Annetta Vibbert, of Glasgow, died Friday, June 14, 2013, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Arrangements are incomplete, but under the direction of Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.

MUNFORDVILLE – Randolph Wavie Smith, 78, of Munfordville, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at his home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Little Flock Baptist Church. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery. Sego Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
