LEXINGTON — Christ called Charlotte Marie Mattingly, 58, of Lexington, home on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

Born on March 30, 1955 in Glasgow, she was born to the union of the late Lawrence Huffman Jr. and Velma Travis Huffman, she was the third of six children. Charlotte professed a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Fred K. Haynie. She attended Glasgow High School. She was a dedicated wife and a loving mother. Charlotte and her family later moved to Lexington. She was an employee at Marathon Oil Corporation for over 20 years until her health failed her. Charlotte had a passion for cooking. She enjoyed cooking hearty meals for her family and baking pecan pies was her specialty. She loved spending time with her family. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy!

She leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter Shanika Mattingly of Lexington; a son Trevino Mattingly of Nicholasville; four grandchildren Tra’Veon Mattingly, Jon’Tay Mattingly, Sha’Niyah Mattingly and Kareon Mason all of Lexington; three sisters, Sheila Carter of Louisville, Margaretta Bailey of Bowling Green, and Marquita Sanners of Miami, Fla.; two brothers, Larry Huffman of Boiling Brook, Ill. and Danny Huffman of Glasgow; an aunt, Annie Mae Shirley and husband Leanis of Glasgow; a uncle J.T.
