Randal ‘Bill’ Evans
TOMPKINSVILLE – Randal “Bill” Evans, 75, of Tompkinsville, passed away Sunday, June 16, while in the company of family members, at Monroe County Health and Rehab Center in Tompkinsville.
Bill was born in Monroe County, on June 20, 1937, a son of the late Lizzie (Pollard) and Eli Evans.
On April 20, 1959 at Carlos Carter’s Home, he married Joyce (Hartley) Evans, who survives him.
He was a member of Cave Springs Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
He worked as an auto mechanic/car detailer. He worked at many car dealerships throughout his life, but with Gillie Hyde in Glasgow for many years.
Bill is survived by a daughter, Alicea Rush, of Tompkinsville; four sons, Chuck Evans and his wife Mitzi, of Brentwood, Tenn.; Rocky Evans and his wife Patricia, of Tompkinsville, Randy Evans and his wife Peggy, of Tompkinsville, Billy Evans and his wife Stacy, of Tompkinsville; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren also survive.
He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Finley, of Tompkinsville, Margie Pickerell, of Tompkinsville.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Eli and Lizzie Evans, five sisters, Geneva Anderson, Gladys Vibbert, Mae Bell Birge, Thema Evans and Ruby York; three brothers, Rex, Elmore and Jack Evans.
Funeral services will be at Yokley Trible Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, with Brother Doug Copas and Chris Vinson officiating.
Visitation is in progress and will continue Wednesday 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bailey Cemetery.
SUMMER SHADE – Juanita Franklin, 89, of Summer Shade, died June 18, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Guy and Sallie Josephine Hayes Martin. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in Missionary Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia and husband Jerry Oaks, of Edmonton; one son, Ronnie and wife Linda Franklin, of Summer Shade; three brothers, Edgar Martin, Wayne Martin and Bobby Martin, all of Edmonton; one sister, Joyce Vibbert, of Glasgow; seven grandchildren, Alicia and husband Steve Reed, Julie and husband Spencer Botts, Sherry Edwards, Christopher and wife Angela Franklin, Jennifer and husband Wes Harlow, Justin and wife Tammy Franklin and Troy Daniel Franklin, five great-grandchildren, Matt and wife Mattie Reed, Jonathon Reed, Hayden and Ashton Botts and Blake Franklin, also survive. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Franklin, two brothers, Kenneth and Dee Martin and sister, Runell Deck.
GLASGOW – Violet Haiduc, 90, of Glasgow, died Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at the NHC Healthcare facility.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but are under the direction of A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.
Wendy Melissa Handley Rhodes
FRANKLIN, Ohio – Wendy Melissa Handley Rhodes, 36, formerly of Glasgow, died Saturday, June 15, 2013, in the care of Hospice of Ohio.
She was the daughter of the late Anna Katherine Handley Nuckols. She was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church.
She is survived by her father, Dennis Sprowls, of Hodgenville; a stepdad, Lindon Nuckols and wife Kim, of Glasgow; husband, Steven Rhodes, of Ohio; two sons, Steven and Gregory, and two sisters, Samantha and Stephanie, all still at home; two brothers, Timothy Handley and wife Ericka, of Hiseville, Dennis Randell Sprowls, of Radcliff; nieces, Ashley Handley and Makaila Carmicle; and nephews, Lucas Carmicle and Mason Handley.
A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Glasgow First Assembly of God. Doors open at 4 p.m. with service at 5 p.m.
GLASGOW – Wilma Joyce Graham Cleveland, 69, of Glasgow, died Saturday, June 15, 2013, at SKY Rehabilitation Center in Bowling Green. Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with cremation to follow.
EDMONTON – Jack Morris Pedigo, 88, of Edmonton, died Sunday, June 16, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Butler Funeral Home with burial in Missionary Mound Cemetery.
