Benny Eugene Bowman
TOMPKINSVILLE — Benny Eugene Bowman, 84, of Tompkinsville, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at Woodland Terrace Health Care Facility in Elizabethtown.
Eugene was born in Tompkinsville on Sept. 22,1927, a son of the late Vera (Norman) and Herbert Bowman.
He married Francis (Conkin) Bowman in 1949, who survives him. Eugene is also survived by a daughter, Patty Bowman, and a son, Jeff Bowman, both of Tompkinsville; two grandchildren, Nick (Alexandra) Bowman, DMD; and Lindsey (Andrew) Reece; and one sister, Anna Ruth Hodges, of Glasgow.
Eugene served in World War II. He was a field representative for the former Cudahay Cheese Packaging Company in Tompkinsville. At his passing, he was a retired farmer in the Mill Creek community. Eugene was a faithful member of Tompkinsville First United Methodist Church, and a member of the Monroe County and Kentucky State Cattlemen’s Association.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Vera (Norman) and Herbert Bowman; two sisters, Nina Nutter, and Loraine Hestand; three brothers, Enoch, Jerry and William Bowman.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2012 at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home with Brother Gary Hardin officiating. Visitation will begin Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.
Memorial donations are suggested to Liberty Cemetery.
Winnie Elma Holland
EDMONTON — Winnie Elma Holland, 96, of Edmonton, died Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at Metcalfe Health Care in Edmonton.
She was the daughter of the late Rollin and Hattie Cassady and member of Foundation Methodist Church.
She is survived by three grandchildren, Patti Kirby and Tracey Holland, of Edmonton, Carla (Eddie) Russell, of Glasgow; four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Holland; a son, Carlos Holland, and two grandsons, Steve and Carlie Holland.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, July 12, at Foundation Cemetery. Visitation after 11:30 a.m. Thursday until service time at Butler Funeral Home, Edmonton.
