She was the daughter of the late William and Alice Lewis Boggs, and wife of the late Junior Coots.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel, with burial in Smiths Grove Cemetery. Visitation is in progress and will continue from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Inez Dyer Emmert
TOMPKINSVILLE – Inez Dyer Emmert, 88, of Tompkinsville, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at Monroe County Health and Rehab Center, in Tompkinsville.
Inez was born in Monroe County, on March 2, 1925, a daughter of the late Dora (Anderson) and Bob Dyer. On March 21, 1943, in Georgia, she married Kenneth Emmert, who preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Yokley Trible Funeral Home with John Osgatharp officiating. Visitation is Tuesday after 4 p.m. and Wednesday 6 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Berea Church of Christ.
Dorothy M. Gilley
KNOB LICK – Dorothy M. Gilley, 85, of Knob Lick, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at The Medical Center in Bowling Green.
She was the daughter of the late Leslie and Bertha Pedigo Reece. She was a homemaker and member of Big Meadow Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Tanya and husband George Walenga, of Bowling Green; three sons, Gerald and wife Yongzhi Gilley, of Spring, Texas, Ronnie and wife Marilyn Gilley, of Gallatin, Tenn., David and wife Amy Gilley, of Shepherdsville; six grandchildren, Dan, Laura, Linda, Andrew, Samuel and Haven; four great-grandchildren, Zach, Leo, Cassie and Alex; one sister, Frances Ferguson, of Louisville; four brothers, Leslie Paul Reece, of Lebanon, Tenn., Norman Reece, of Louisville, Wendell Reece, of Glasgow, and Homer Reece, of Louisville.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Junior Gilley; one daughter, Wanda Diane Gilley and one sister, Maxine Pitcock.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in Big Meadow Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Carolyn Faye Duff Jacoby
BOWLING GREEN – Carolyn Faye Duff Jacoby, 70, of Bowling Green, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at The Medical Center.
She was the daughter of the late Hollie Lethal and Mary Virginia Connor Duff.
She was the wife of the late Douglas M. Jacoby and former wife of Oakley J. Shaw, who survives.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Grove Chapel. Burial will be in Martinsville Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Jerrel Dean Lane
FOUNTAIN RUN – Jerrel Dean Lane, 92, of Fountain Run, died Thursday Nov. 28, 2013, in Glasgow.
She was the daughter of the late Elijah Goodnight and Virgie Mae (Young) Creek, and wife of the late Lois Lane.
Funeral service was Saturday, Nov. 30, at Fountain Run Funeral Home. Burial was in Wood Cemetery.
Ruby Holder Lockhart
LOUISVILLE – Ruby Holder Lockhart, 82, of Louisville, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, in Louisville.
She was the daughter of the late Elmer Curtis and Cora Wilson Holder, and wife of the late John Thomas Lockhart Jr.
Funeral service was Monday, Dec. 2, at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel. Burial was in Clear Fork Cemetery.
Walton H. Luttrell
PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – Walton H. Luttrell, 88, of Punta Gorda, Fla., formerly of Glasgow, departed this life on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, in Punta Gorda, Fla.
The Edmonson County native was born on Oct. 4, 1925, to the late Chester and Zora Davis Luttrell. He was married to the late Mildred Loretta Minton Luttrell.
He was a World War II Army veteran where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He retired from the Kentucky Department of Education as a division director. He was a former teacher at Hiseville School and was former Barren County School superintendent and was instrumental in the construction of the new Edmonson County High School. He was a member of Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church, Allen Lodge #24 F&AM and attended Berean Baptist Church in Port Charlotte, Fla.
He is survived by one nephew, Grant L. Minton and his wife Tonda, of Auburn; one niece, Beth Vincent and her husband Donnie, of Sweeden; and sister-in-law, Linda M. Elmore and her husband John, of Punta Gorda, Fla.
Visitation is in progress and will continue from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Patton Funeral Home, Brownsville Chapel. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the funeral home with burial in Sweeden Cemetery.

Johnnie Michael McElroy
GLASGOW – Johnnie Michael McElroy, 54, of Glasgow, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, in Green County, from injuries sustained in an auto accident.
Born in Taylor County, he was the son of the late Henry Leo McElroy and Annie Agnes Shively McElroy, of Finley, who survives.
Mr. McElroy was a member of Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church and owner and operator of Little Pony Express Trucking in Glasgow.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Bobbie Teresa McElroy, of Glasgow; two sons, Michael Brian Spurling and wife Tammie and Jonathan Leo McElroy, both of Campbellsville; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann McElroy, of Finley; a stepdaughter, Melissa Renee Ross, of Merry Oaks; eight grandchildren, Isabelle Spurling, Sophia Spurling, Gabby Vanhoose, Jonathon Sanders, Cheyenne Adkins, Cayden Lane Titsworth, Emily Grace Titsworth and Bryson Lane McElroy; two brothers, Roy Thomas McElroy and wife Patsy, of Lebanon, and Charles Wayne McElroy and wife Brenda, of Finley; six sisters, Billie Mae Turner and husband John, of Bardstown, Nancy Marie Moore and husband Charles, of Lebanon, Mary Elizabeth Parrott and husband Wallace, of Lebanon, Gloria Lillian McElroy, of Finley, Roberta Ann Lewis and husband Larry, of Willisburg, and Brenda Kay Goatley and husband Charles, of Springfield; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a half-brother, Afton Leroy McElroy.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church in Campbellsville, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday after 1 p.m. at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral home and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time for the service at the church.
GLASGOW – Nell Perkins, 91, of Glasgow, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at NHC Healthcare Facility in Glasgow.
She was born in Summer Shade, the daughter of the late Virgil and Nona Syree Whitlow. Mrs. Perkins was the owner and operator of Nell’s Art Gallery and loved to work in her garden and especially with her roses. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School class.
Survivors include her son, Maurice Perkins and wife Charlotte, of Glasgow; her daughter, Sandy Johnson and husband Eugene, of Glasgow; five grandchildren, Randy (Mary) Perkins, of Glasgow, Jeff (Teresa) Perkins, of Franklin, Laura (Scott) Griggs, of Louisville, Stacey (Rick) Hughes, of Bowling Green, and Dan (Renna Kay) Pedigo, of Glasgow; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Jean Johnston of Edmonton; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tristram Edwin Perkins, and two brothers, Wayne and Don Whitlow.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6 at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday.
Benny Henderson Scott
HARDYVILLE – Benny Henderson Scott, 67, of Hardyville, passed away Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013.
He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam and a retiree of S.K.F. Industries. Benny was born on Monday, Sept. 16, 1946, the son of Opal Scott and the late Leroy Scott, of Hardyville.
Benny is survived by his wife, Barbara Scott, of Hardyville; two sons, Michael Scott and wife Crystal, of Hardyville, and James Allen Scott, of Hardyville; his daughter, Laura Scott, of Lexington; three grandchildren, Emily, Bradley and Joseph Scott; three sisters, Ramona Gardner, of Munfordville, Carol Ann Martin, of Cave City, and Tammy Ritchie, of Bowling Green; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. until time for the funeral on Wednesday at Shady Grove Baptist Church. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial to follow in Rock Cemetery in Metcalfe County, under the direction of Winn Funeral Home.
Larry Douglas Shugart
GLASGOW – Larry Douglas Shugart, 69, of Glasgow, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at his home.
Born in Glasgow, he was the son of the late Omer Hardin Shugart and Carrie Jewell Matthews Shugart.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Neal’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation is in progress at the funeral home.
Louise Hope Vibbert
SUMMER SHADE – Louise Hope Vibbert, 91, of Summer Shade, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at NHC in Glasgow.
She was born Sept. 13, 1922, at Sulphur Lick, the daughter of the late Zilpha and Zadie Martin Hope. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by three daughters, Marcella Rich, of Glasgow; Ellen Jacobson, of Fernandina Beach, Fla., and Elaine (Gordon) Mattingly, of Lexington; three sons, Bobby and John Vibbert, of Summer Shade, and Gary (Tabitha) Vibbert, of Edmonton. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Edalene Hope and Marilyn Grider.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Todd Vibbert; one son, Jimmy Vibbert; two grandchildren; one sister, Melba Jean Hope; and two brothers, Gladwell and Tommy Hope, and one son-in-law, Chet Rich.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at McMurtrey Funeral Home by Brother Gary Richardson. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Summer Shade Cemetery.
