Margaret ‘Peggy’ Hurt
HISEVILLE – Margaret “Peggy” Hurt, 76, of Hiseville, joined her parents, Terry and Stella Christie Hurt, in Heaven, on Wednesday, April 17, 2013.
She is survived by one brother, Kenneth Hurt; two sister-in-laws, Dean Hurt and Barbara Hurt. She was loved and adored by many nephews and nieces, Wayne Hurt, Terri Wilcox, Diane White, Cynthia Logsdon, Keith Hurt, Amie Hurt, Miranda Hurt, Tristan Hurt, James Russell White, Kennedy Logsdon, Jared Hurt, Jess White, Chandler Hutten, Leah White, Avery Logsdon, Riley Hurt, Maggie Hutten, Rhayna Hurt and one great-great-great niece, Madelyn Bodifay. Along with her family she will be mourned by several close friends in her community and her classmates of Hiseville High School 1960.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her older brother, James Robert Hurt.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
EDMONTON – Ima Jessee, 65, of Edmonton, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Geneva and Venus Compton. She is survived by husband Edward Jessee, of Edmonton.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 4 until 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
BOWLING GREEN – Hollis Johnson, 79, of Bowling Green, began his eternal life on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, in Bowling Green.
The Barren County native was born on March 25, 1934 to the late Gus and Mary Elizabeth Childress Johnson. He was the husband of Bernice Minyard Johnson.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Cuban Crisis. He retired from Houchens Industries as a store manager; was a member of Park City and Cave City Lions Club; was a former Park City Mayor and a devoted member of Cedar Hill United Baptist Church where he was once their song leader and church treasurer.
Besides being survived by his faithful and loving wife, Bernice, he is further survived by his daughter, Vicki Johnson, of Bowling Green; one sister, Cova England (Lester), of Horse Cave; two sisters-in-law, Nell Johnson, of Glasgow and Lucille Johnson, of Cave City and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, April 19, from 3 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 20, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Patton Funeral Home, Park City Chapel. The funeral service will be Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Patton Funeral Home, Park City Chapel. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
