GLASGOW — Ralph Shirley Bell

MOUNT VERNON – Ralph Shirley Bell, 74, of Mount Vernon, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at the VA Medical Center in Lexington. He was an Edmonton native, born Oct. 2, 1939, the son of the late German and Irene Shirley Bell.

He was a U.S. Army Vietnam-era veteran, retired master electrician and contractor, member of the Baptist faith and resident of Rockcastle County for the past 26 years.

Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Regina Ponder Bell; five children, Steven (Susan) Bell, Mark Bell, Brandon Bell, Josh Bell, Jenna (Tyler) Ingram; one brother, Jimmy (Janet) Bell; and seven grandchildren, Erica, Charlie, John, Braxton, Cayson, Avery and Emmalyn.

Funeral service will be noon Friday, Jan. 31, at Reppert Funeral Home, 110 N. Broadway, Berea, Ky., with Brother Randall Adams officiating. Visitation is in progress at the funeral home.

Graveside committal service will be 4 p.m. CST Fridayat Union Chapel Cemetery in Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the funeral home to help with the funeral cost.


LOUISVILLE – William Burton “Billy” Harper, 69, of Louisville, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, in Corydon, Ind. Funeral services will be in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Friday, with burial to follow in Harper Cemetery in Horse Cave.

HORSE CAVE – Juanita Hatcher, 77, of Horse Cave, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at Hart County Healthcare in Horse Cave. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at New Hope Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

GLASGOW – William Hunter Smith, 89, of Glasgow, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.
