Mary Leathial Thomas Glass

GLASGOW — GLASGOW – Mary Leathial Thomas Glass, 80, formerly of Glasgow, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014, in Mesa, Ariz.

Born April 8, 1934, in Metcalfe County, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Helen Belle Thomas.  Mary was reared and lived most of her life in Barren County, where she had worked at Scottie's Drive-In, the Snack Bar at T.J. Samson Community Hospital and at Walmart.

She moved to Princeton, in 2012 and from there to Mesa in 2013, where she lived until she went to her heavenly home.

She is survived by two sons, Rick Meek and his wife, Gayle, of Glasgow, and Charles Meek and his wife, Brandi, of Mesa; one daughter, Paula Compton and her husband, Marvin, of Mesa; one stepdaughter, Diane McCauley; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer Baker, Alena Clark, Marvin Compton III, Rob Compton, Cody Meek, Casey Meek, Jamie Meek, Randy Meek, Tierra Meek and Danica Meek; four stepgrandchildren, Curtis Mills, Madison Klages, Myke Klages and Dusty McCauley; one sister, Louise Evans of Princeton; one uncle, Dick Thomas of Glasgow; 17 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and close friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Glass, and a granddaughter, Kimberly Meek.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Lick Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
