Cecil Raymond Dickson
PRICES CREEK – Cecil Raymond Dickson, 70, of the Prices Creek community in Adair County passed away Tuesday April 23, 2013, in Greensboro, North Carolina.
He was born on April 29, 1942, in Barren County, the son of Carl Dickson and the late Lucille Sexton Dickson of the Prices Creek Community.
He is survived by his father, Carl Dickson, of Columbia; wife, Margie R. Keith Dickson, of Columbia; two sons, Jeffrey Keith (Debra) Dickson, of Columbia, Rodger Lee Dickson, of Columbia; one daughter Kim (Leon) Mathews, of Laconia, Ind.; three sisters, Geneva (Coy) England, of Columbia, Judy (Douglas) Spears, of Breeding, Loretta (Elbert) Pennington, of Breeding; four grandchildren, Gary (Christina) Mathews, Allison Mathews, Andrew (Rachel) Mathews and Brandon Mathews; and two great-grandchildren, Raines and Asher Mathews. Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends survive.
He was a member of Corner Stone Church in Metcalfe County, founder of Gospel Sounds Quartet, a truck driver for Bowling Green Freight in Bowling Green, Ky.
Funeral service will be Sunday, April 28, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. Clergy officiating will be Brother Roger Poynter and Brother Bobby Neal. Interment in Shirley-Dickson Cemetery, Prices Creek Road. Visitation after 10 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.
Joe Rogers Gee
FOUNTAIN RUN –Joe Rogers Gee, 78, of Fountain Run, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville.
He was the husband of the late Nancy Laverne Brooks Gee, and son of the late James Tas Gee and Ruby Lee Gee.
Visitation will begin after 12 p.m. on Friday, April 26, at Strode’s Gamaliel Chapel in Gamaliel.
Funeral service will be Saturday, April 27, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Strode’s Gamaliel Chapel in Gamaliel, with burial in Gamaliel Cemetery in Gamaliel.
Memorials are suggested to the Gamaliel Cemetery or the American Diabetes Association.
