David A. Brian
MT. WASHINGTON —David A. Brian, 76, of Mt. Washington, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at Green Meadows Health Care Center.
He was the son of the late August Brian and Edna Richterkessing Brian. He was the husband of the late Mary Bird Brian.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Hardy & Son Funeral Home in Bowling Green with burial at Otter Gap Cemetery.
SAVOYARD – Randall Chaney, 76, of Savoyard, went to be with the Lord Friday, Sept. 6, 2013.
He was born in Metcalfe County, the son of the late Jack and Georgia Gray Chaney. He was a member of Savoyard Baptist Church, a well-known meticulous farmer and previously worked as a sales solicitor for Bale Tobacco Warehouse.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Flossie England Chaney; two sisters, Nona Poynter and husband Ken, of Knob Lick, and Patsy Byrd, of Glasgow; a sister-in-law, Caroline England Poynter and husband Herman, of Savoyard; several nieces and nephews; and a special young friend, Blake Vaughn, of Louisville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lyndon and Buford Chaney; and one sister, Pearl Piper.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday, Sep. 9, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Houk Cemetery. Visitation was after noon Sunday at the funeral home.
Ellie L. Coomer
COLUMBUS, Ind. — Ellie L. Coomer, 83, of Columbus, Ind., died at 9:05 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at Covered Bridge Health Campusin Seymour.
Ellie was a charter member of New Life Missionary Baptist Church in Columbus and had a strong faith in God and the power of prayer. She loved to sing and also loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
Born in Edmonton on June 17, 1930, Mrs. Coomer was the daughter of Lee Burris and Mae Harper Burris. She married the Rev. James H. Coomer on May 8, 1948. He preceded her in death Sept. 25, 2001.
Survivors include sons, David (Bev) Coomer of Antigo, Wisc., Danny (Rena) Coomer, Mark (Cheryl) Coomer, and Paul (Melinda) Coomer, all of Columbus, Ind.; a brother, William Burris of Edmonton; sisters, Alberta (Clifford) McCray and Maylene Ervin, both of Edmonton; grandchildren, Angie Coomer, Amanda Stout, Jeremy (Tonya) Coomer, Hannah Coomer, Kaitlyn Coomer, Rachel Coomer, Josh (Ashley) Coomer, and Sarah Coomer; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home, 3855 25th St., Columbus, Ind., with the Rev. Scott Harper officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday. Burial will be at Hawcreek Cemetery in Columbus.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

BOWLING GREEN — David Allen Crown, 56, of Bowling Green, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at The Medical Center of Bowling Green.
He was the son of Alva Crown and Betty Crown, who survives. He was the husband of Emily Henry Crown, who survives.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at Hardy & Son Funeral Home with burial in Highland Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the funeral home.
SULPHUR LICK — Drexel Dawes Holloway, 88, of the Sulphur Lick community, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at home.
He was a farmer and a son of the late Herod and Lillie Eaton Holloway.
He was a member of Mount Gilead Church of Christ and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Roberts Holloway; six sons, Terry Holloway, of Lexington, Gaius Holloway, of Summer Shade, Forrest Holloway, of Tompkinsville, Derek (Janice) Holloway, of Minnesota, Alan Holloway, of Summer Shade, and Lance Holloway, of North Carolina; grandchildren Tabitha Holloway, Courtney Green, Dusty Brown, Jacob Holloway and Heidi Holloway; one sister, Ravenel Haile, of Georgia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Trudy Holloway; and brothers, Walton and Elwin Holloway.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Gilead Church of Christ with Brother Tim McHenry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McMurtrey Funeral Home in Summer Shade and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

EDMONTON — Bentley Loving Johns Jr., 63, of Edmonton, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.
He was the son of the late Bentley Loving Johns Sr. and the late Peggy Easter Day Johns.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Priscella Fester Johns.
There will be no funeral service. Cremation was chosen.

EDMONTON, 75, of Edmonton, passed away Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.
He was the son of the late Owen and Mary Free McCoy.
Marshall was a member of Pleasant Hill Church of Christ, retired pipeliner and U.S. Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Harper McCoy; two sons, Timmy and wife Cindy McCoy, and Chris McCoy, all of Edmonton; six sisters, Joyce McCoy Ennis, of Bowling Green, Norma McCoy Dial, of Glasgow, Mary P. Creek, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Freda Dugger, of Glasgow, Sylvia Cook, of Edmonton, and Janet Dilley, of Glasgow; five grandchildren, Torie Hatton and husband Johnny, Ethan McCoy and wife Brittany, April McCoy, Shae McCoy and Matthew McCoy; four step-grandchildren, Curtis Deweese and wife Mandy, Collin Crumpton, Makenna Greene and Courtney Greene; 10 great- and step-great-grandchildren also survive.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Owen McCoy Jr., Billy McCoy, Phillip McCoy and Jerry Murrell McCoy.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in Randolph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
BOWLING GREEN—Linda Scarbrough, 67, of Bowling Green, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at The Medical Center of Bowling Green.
She was the daughter of the late Elwood Brown and Winnie Cundiff Brown. She was the wife of Paul Scarbrough, who survives.

She was the daughter of Brian Wisdom and Megan Hammer Wisdom, of Gamaliel.

EDMONTON – Caroline Anne Hammontree, 73, of Edmonton, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at Glasgow Health and Rehab in Glasgow. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Frackville with burial in Sky-View Memorial Park at Tamaqua, Pa. Out-of-town services will be conducted by Nice-Hart Funeral Home in Frackton, Pa.
