GLASGOW — Olia Philpott Compton

MUNFORDVILLE – Olia Philpott Compton, 86, of Shady Grove, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at her home.

She was a daughter of the late Jeff Polston and Letha Staggs Polston.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home with burial in Mount Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5:30 to 9 p.m. and after 8 a.m. Saturday until time for services at the funeral home.

James Lawrence Lewis

GLASGOW – James Lawrence Lewis, 68, of Glasgow, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, at his residence.

Born in Barren County, he was the son of the late James A. and Sarah E. Byrd Lewis. Mr. Lewis was a farmer in Barren County for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Emma Theresa Carter Lewis, of Glasgow; two daughters, Teresa Brown and Vickie Turner (Chris), both of Glasgow; a son, Ricky Lewis of Glasgow; a stepdaughter, Katerah Martin (Randy) of Madisonville, TN; two stepsons, James Hicks of Glasgow and Jay Hicks of Madisonville, TN; three grandchildren, Ashley Taylor, Dewayne Holman and Joey Brown; a great-grandchild, Madison Taylor; seven step-grandchildren, Christopher Parks, Julia Hicks, James Scott Hicks, Jacob Martin, Emily Martin, Jonathan Martin and Joshua Martin; and two sisters, Patricia Smith of Glasgow and Mary Emmitt of Edinburgh, IN.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Jean Lewis.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in  Chapman Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Martha Lee Spear

TOMPKINSVILLE — Martha Lee Bryant Spear, 84, of Tompkinsville, KY died Wednesday, Aug. 22, at Monroe County Medical Center.

Martha was from Cumberland County to the late Mattie (Gorden) and Sherman Bryant. She was the wife of the late Lawrence Spear.

Funeral services will be at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville at 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 24. Visitation begins Thursday at 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Yokley Cemetery.
