Lois Hope McFarland
GLASGOW – Lois Hope McFarland, 78, Glasgow, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late Vester White Eubank and Elizabeth Pickett Eubank. She was a retired public accountant with Campbell, Myers and Rutledge, CPA’s in Glasgow and a member of the Refuge Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, William L. “Bill” McFarland; her children, Fern Wells, and husband Dan, and Neal McFarland, and wife Pam, all of Lexington; two grandchildren, William Drexel Wells and Olivia Hope Wells; two sisters, Naomi Kinslow, of Glasgow and Ruth Faye Yates, of Nashville; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Webb and Barbara Cook, and by three brothers, B. L. Eubank, Billy Eubank, and Vester Eubank Jr.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Potter’s Children’s Home—envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Ruth Helen Harwood Sherrell
GLASGOW – Ruth Helen Harwood Sherrell, of Glasgow, formerly of Scottsville, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at her home in Bowling Green.
She was the wife of the late Carvin Sherrell, and the daughter of the late Clyde Clemons Harwood Sr. and Willie Mae Johnson Harwood.
Visitation will be Thursday, Nov.1 after 2 p.m. at Strode Funeral Home in Scottsville.
Funeral service will be Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Strode Funeral Home in Scottsville, with burial in Allen County Memorial Gardens
Misty Renee Spidell
MARTINSVILLE, Ind. – Misty Renee Spidell, 25, of Martinsville, Ind., died there Oct. 28, at her home. She was a daughter of Donald White of Avon, Ind., and Sterlina Spidell Shelton, of Martinsville, Ind.
Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. at the Church of Latter Day Saints in Tompkinsville, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the church. McMurtrey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
