Darrell Glenn Chapman
GLASGOW – Darrell Glenn Chapman, 65, of Glasgow, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at his home.
Born in Glasgow, he was the son of the late Clifton and Edna Spears Chapman. He was retired from the Eaton Axle Co. and was a school bus driver for Barren County Schools. He attended the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Marla Ewing Chapman; six children, LaDarra Chapman (Gary), Kimra C. Thomas (Allen), Keason Chapman (Melissa), Adam Chapman (Leslie), Taisy Chapman and Maddy Chapman all of Glasgow; 12 grandchildren, Colby Rich, Dalton Bunch, Konagher, Kallen, Kayla, Terry, Kelissa, Emily, Keily, Lily, Lacey and Leah Chapman; and three step-grandchildren, Logan, Mallory and Holly Thomas. He was also preceded in death by a son, Will Chapman and a brother, Jerry Chapman.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation is in progress at the funeral home.
George Woodford Minor
CAVE CITY – George Woodford Minor, 86, of Cave City, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, in Bowling Green.
The Hart County native was born May 26, 1927, to the late Fred and Millie Dennison Minor and he was married to Frances E. Minor, of Cave City.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at Patton Funeral Home, Park City Chapel. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at the funeral home with burial in Cave City Cemetery.
Norma Jean Russell
BOWLING GREEN – Norma Jean Russell, 80, of Bowling Green, passed away Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, in Lucas.
She is the daughter of the late Garnett and Irene Douglas. Norma was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church and a member of S.O.K.Y. Campers club, where she attended the monthly Camper’s Club social night. Norma and her late husband, Daymon Russell, were avid campers that enjoyed traveling and left every year on the same day. Norma was also retired from Holley Carburetor after serving for more than 40 years. She will be missed dearly by her friends and family.
She is survived by her four sons: Terry W. Russell, wife Janet, Fairview, Tenn., Steven R. Russell, wife Paula, Lucas, Mark A. Russell, wife Melissa, Cottontown, Tenn. and Dale Russell, wife Irene, Glasgow; three sisters: Barbara York, Linda Abbott, husband Arnold and Brenda Womack, husband Doyle, all of Bowling Green; grandchildren: Angela Smith, husband Dwight, Greg Russell, wife Tammy, Chris Russell, wife Jenny, Amy McLean, husband Andrew, Annie Russell, and Alison Russell; great-grandchildren: Katlyn Smith, Dalton Smith, Daymon Tate McLean, Kinleigh Russell, Drew McLean, Reed McLean, Carson Russell; her two lifelong friends, Roy and Jean Lightfoot and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Daymon Russell, two brothers, Roy Douglas, and Bobby Douglas and her grandmother/mentor, with whom she shared a close relationship with in her early childhood years while living with her, Katie Hartman.
Visitation is in progress at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel and will continue on Wednesday, Sept. 4, from 9 to 11 a.m.
