Glenn D. Smith
CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. — Glenn D. Smith, of Crawfordsville, passed away Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at IU Arnett in Lafayette, Ind. He was 60.
Mr. Smith was retired Air Force, serving from 1977 to 1994, stationed at Grissom Air Force Base. Following his discharge, he worked at Wabash National until present day. He was a 1970 graduate of Thorntown High School.
Born Oct. 19, 1952, in Glasgow, he was the son of William Herbert Smith and Doris Geron Smith. He married Mara L. Badeaux on June 13, 1981.
Survivors include his wife, Mara Smith; his mother, Doris Smith; son, Darrin Smith; daughter, Sandi Smith; sons, Jeremy (Danielle) Smith and Joshua (Rachael) Smith; and daughter, Jessica Smith; one brother, Gregory D. (Ginny) Smith; and two sisters-in-law, Linda (Paul) Niggemann and Ardyth Janine (John) Wright, as well as seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father in November 2006.
Funeral services will begin 2 p.m. Thursday at Burkhart Funeral Home, in Crawfordsville. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery North with military rites by the American Legion and VFW. Family and friends can pay their respects at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday.
Dave B. Taylor
MAMMOTH CAVE — Brother Dave B. Taylor, 81, of Mammoth Cave, passed away at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at The Medical Center in Bowling Green.
He was born in Cub Run to the late Harvey Taylor and Donnie Bratcher Taylor. Brother Dave was a farmer and an ordained Baptist minister having pastored churches in Hart, Edmonson, Grayson and Hardin counties.
He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean conflict and a member of Hill Grove Baptist Church.
Brother Dave is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nelsie Mae Taylor; one daughter, Karen Taylor Agee and husband Jim, of Brownsville; three sons, Allen Taylor and wife, Veronica, of Ollie, Brandt Taylor and wife, Kim, of Smiths Grove, and Reed Taylor and wife Judy, of Mammoth Cave, 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Naomi Alvey, of Cub Run, and Nora Myrtle Taylor, of Cub Run.
He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Calvin Taylor, Harley Taylor, Amy Logsdon and Mamie Logsdon.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Hill Grove Baptist Church with Brother Danny Wayne Sexton and Brother Dan Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Hill Grove Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 9 p.m. Monday at Sego Funeral Home and at Hill Grove Baptist Church after 11 a.m. Tuesday and will continue until service time at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The family request that memorial donations be made to the Hill Grove Cemetery. Military honors will be performed at graveside by VFW Post 6937 of Edmonson County.
