GLASGOW — Jessie Pearl Hunter Bow

CAVE CITY – Jessie Pearl Hunter Bow, 91, Cave City, died Sunday, July 28, 2013, at Rosewood Health Care Center in Bowling Green. A native of Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late L. B. and Elsie Fudge Hunter. She was a homemaker, a retired employee of Sorensen’s and a member of the Salem Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Bonnie Hughes and husband Jimmy, Glasgow; two grandsons, Jay Hughes and wife Cindy, Morgantown, and LTC Jeffery S. Hughes and wife Debra, Glasgow; six great-grandchildren, Tyler Hughes, Andrew Hughes, and Emma Hughes, all of Glasgow, SFC Richard J. Hughes and wife Heather, Ft. Mitchell, Ala., Ryan Hughes, Memphis, Tenn., and Briar Neal Hughes, Upton; two step-great-grandchildren, Jon Zlater and Nathaniel Ross; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty H. Halcomb and husband Dallas, Pittsboro, Ind.; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Hunter and husband Sam, Bowling Green; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Stanley P. Bow; one grandson, Joel Lynn Hughes; three brothers, Ralph Hunter, Samuel F. Hunter, and Jim Hunter; two sisters, Hazel H. Vibbert and Marie H. Fletcher.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Alzheimer’s Association.

Dorothy Genene Chapman

GLASGOW – Dorothy Genene Chapman, 50, Glasgow, died Saturday, July 27, 2013, at her residence, after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was the daughter of the late William Carl Smith and Bessie Marie Settles. She was a member of the Locust Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by four daughters, Ashley Emmitt (John), Amber Chapman (Elijah), Megan Chapman (Kenny) and Jennie Lyn Chapman; grandchildren: Brayden Emmitt, Paxton Emmitt, Brantley Glass and Brenlyn Glass; her grand dogs, Bama and Tucker Lane; her companion, Leonard Ballard; six brothers, Jimmy Smith, Ronnie Smith (Shelia), Roger Smith (Mary), Victor Smith, Donnie Smith and Freddie Smith; one sister, Connie Parrett (Glen); half-sister, Wilma Harrison (Bobby); caregivers, Thelma Kay Chapman and Bobby Close; two special friends, William Ballard and Kathy Walker.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Chapman; one daughter, Pamela Smith; one brother, Richard Smith; one sister, Bonnie Smith.

Funeral service was 11 a.m. Monday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Burial was in Tracy Cemetery. Special thanks to T. J. Hospice.
