J.W. Gunter Jr. - SCOTTSVILLE
J.W. Gunter Jr., 60, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at his residence.
He was a son of the late John Warren Gunter Sr. and Hilda Olene Johns Gunter of Scottsville, who survives. Other survivors include his wife, Susan Kitchens Gunter of Scottsville.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, at Goad Funeral Home, Scottsville, with burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation is in progress at the funeral home. Graham Lodge No. 208 F&AM; will conduct Masonic rites at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to White Plains Baptist Church Building Fund or Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
Lillian Joyce Peden - PARK CITY
Lillian Joyce Peden, 85, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at the U of L Hospital in Louisville from injuries sustained in a recent auto accident.
She was a Barren County native, the daughter of the late Luther Owen and Daisy Ethel Cawthorn Pedigo. Mrs. Peden was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting in her Wednesday quilting group at Lera B. Mitchell Clubhouse and at the monthly quilting sessions at South Central Kentucky Cultural Center. She was a member of the Lick Branch Cumberland Presbyterian Church but regularly attended the Bon Ayr Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Wilson Peden, and two brothers, McRee and Kenneth Pedigo.
She is survived by a son: Larry Peden (Linda) of Louisville; a daughter: Carolyn Moran (Pat) of Horse Cave; six grandchildren: Kristen Ballew (Richard) of Boaz, Ala., Danny Moran of Nashville, Tenn., Sheena Moran of Denver, Colo., Shane Moran of Boaz, Ala., Jason Peden (LaRae) of Louisville, and Amy Peden of Louisville; two step great-grandchildren: Nicole Snider (Josh) and Celeste Wooten (Brian), both of Alabama; one great-grandchild: Skylar Peden; five step-great-great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Pauline Peden of Glasgow.

Graveside funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, at Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery with burial to follow under the direction of Winn Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at noon until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, in the Chapel of Winn Funeral Home.
