Mary Maxine Garmon Allen
GLASGOW — Mary Maxine Garmon Allen, 86, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Elisse Kinnaird Garmon. Mrs. Allen was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Her husband, Stanley Allen, preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son: Robert Allen and his wife Dianne; two grandchildren: Alicia Allen and her husband Jeff and James Robert Allen and his wife Amy, and two great-grandchildren, all of Glasgow.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister: Ellen Smith; three brothers: Valiant Garmon, Earl Garmon and Joe Garmon; her stepmother: Ethel Garmon; two stepbrothers: Ancel Turner and Willie Turner.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
John W. Baker
NOBOB — John W. Baker, 80, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2007, at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville. He was born in Cumberland County to the late Doll and Critie Baker. Mr. Baker was a farmer and carpenter. He was married in Monroe County to Ollie Riley Baker on Dec. 23, 1968, and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Ollie Jane Baker of Nobob; one granddaughter, Donna Bartley of Tompkinsville; three great-grandchildren, Destiny Kay Ford, Dusty Ray Firkin and Kalvin Daniel Bartley, all of Tompkinsville; one brother, Dan Baker of Glasgow; three sisters, Sylvia, Wyvonia and Etta; several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Barlow Conaster of Glasgow, also survive.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one step son, William Kenneth Firkin.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, at Union No. 2 Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.

Military rites will be performed at graveside by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. on Friday and after 7:30 a.m. on Saturday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. There will be a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Reid Welsh, 75, of Edmonton
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 24, at 11 a.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will begin Wednesday, July 23, at 3 p.m. and continue at the funeral home until time of services on Thursday.
