Jack Parker Carter
TOMPKINSVILLE – Jack Parker Carter, 69, died Sunday, July 8, 2007, at the Monroe County Medical Center.
He was born in Monroe County on Feb. 25, 1938, and was a son of the late Abe Carter and Evelyn Evans Carter. Mr. Carter was a retired ASCS County Executive Director, having served 32 years.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Welch Carter, whom he married in Columbia on Dec. 1, 1967; two sons and daughter-in-law: Jeffery Parker and Christina Carter of Bowling Green and James Jeremy Carter of Tompkinsville; a brother: Dr. James E. Carter of Tompkinsville; one sister: Rebecca Carter Nevius of Louisville; three grandchildren: Addison Grace Carter, Will-Parker Carter and John Caldwell Carter.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 11, at 1 p.m. at the Yokley-Trible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Jim Carter, Lanny Judd and Brother Tom Stokes will officiate.
Visitation will be Tuesday after 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Teresa Michell Gibbons
EDMONTON – Steve Kelly Gibbons, age 34, and his wife, Teresa Michell Gibbons, age 33, died Friday, July 6, 2007, in a motorcycle accident near Edmonton.
Steve Kelly is the son of Dianne and Jimmy Gibson of Edmonton and the late Samuel Steve Gibbons. He was employed by J&J; Trucking.
Teresa Michell is the daughter of Randall and Sherry Coleen Burris of Columbia and was employed at Carhartt in Edmonton.
Joint funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Tarters Chapel Cemetery in Adair County. Visitation will be from 2:30 until 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Besides his parents, Kelly is survived by a daughter, Makayla Gibbons of Glasgow; and by two sisters and three brothers: Kimberly Parker of Glasgow, Sheila Dickison, Jimmy Ray Gibson, Darrell Gibson and Kenneth Gibson, all of Edmonton.
Teresa Michell is survived by her three children, Timothy, Ashley and Colby Blair, all of Edmonton; one brother, Jeremy Burris of Columbia; a grandfather, Carl Burris of Columbia; and a grandmother, Lola Robertson of Center.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Nora Bell Burris, and grandfather, Oscar Robertson.
Oleta Fern Dunford
GLASGOW – Oleta Fern Dunford, 85, died Monday, July 9, 2007, at her residence. A native of Illinois, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Estella Weatherly Dirickson and a homemaker.
Survivors include five sons, Arthur Lee Dunford Jr. and wife, Brenda, of Alabama, Charles David Dunford and wife, Linda, of Michigan, Oscar John Dunford and wife, Carolyn, of Greensburg, Robert Douglas Dunford and wife, Donna, of Michigan, and Timothy Alan Dunford and wife, Sherrie, of Glasgow; 14 grandchildren, David, Laurie, Charles, Timothy, Krista, Jenny, Marie, Amanda, Johnnie, Krystle, Stephanie, Arthur III, Oscar and Alex; two sisters, Mary Sells and Freda Bowley of Indiana; and 20 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Lee Dunford Sr.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Helen L. Spencer
BOWLING GREEN – Helen L. Spencer, 79, died Saturday, July 7, 2007, at the Greenview Hospital. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church and was retired from retail sales for Rose’s Department Store. She was a member of the Singing Seniors, enjoyed singing southern gospel music, fishing and traveling. She was also a graduate of College High class of ‘47. She was born in Warren County and was a daughter of the late Dennis Lyle and Mamie Driver Lyle. She was in the U.S. Navy in World War II.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel, Bowling Green, with burial in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Bowling Green. Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel. Visitation will also be on the day of the service beginning at 11 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m.
Survivors include two sons: David Spencer, wife Jannie, and Michael Spencer, wife Brenda, all of Bowling Green; two daughters: Delores “Dee” Shulenburg, husband Mike, of Franklin, Ga., and Denise Kennedy of Bowling Green; three sisters: Marie Townsend of Indianapolis, Ind., Rosemary Henry and Willie Mae Hildreth, husband Bill, all of Bowling Green; eight grandchildren, one step grandson, 11 great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her late husband, Charles E. Spencer.
