TENNESSEE – Christina Lee Brown, 23, died Wednesday, July 5, 2006, in Celina, Tenn.
Survivors include her mother, Pam McClerran of Celina, Tenn.; her grandparents, Jerry and Nora Mae Brown of Burkesville and Carl and Emelene Roach of Celina, Tenn.; two half brothers, Dakota Brown of Burkesville and Matt McClerran of Celina, Tenn.; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be noon Saturday at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home in Burkesville with burial in the Burkesville Cemetery.
Family requests visitation after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
GLASGOW – Horace Button, 93, died Thursday, July 6, 2006, at the Glasgow Health & Rehab Center.
A native of Barren County, he was the son of the late Jap and May Cooksey Button. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Harlow’s Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nora Button; one son, Horace Button Jr. of Glasgow; and several nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Barber Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Genobia Bryant Caudle
GLASGOW – Genobia Bryant Caudle, 81, died Thursday, July 6, 2006.
She was a Glasgow native.
Arrangements are incomplete, but are under the direction of Watts Funeral Home.
Rosa Nell Dewbrew
INDIANA – Rosa Nell Dewbrew, 83, of Greenfield, Ind., died Tuesday, July 4, 2006, at Brandywine Manor Nursing Home in Greenfield.
She was born in Glasgow, the daughter of the late Issac and Maggie Taylor Likens, and was the wife of the late Mitchell Howard Dewbrew. Mrs. Dewbrew was a homemaker and attended the Church of God.
She is survived by a son, Scott Dewbrew of Indianapolis; two brothers, Albert Likens of Indianapolis and Ottis Likens of Glasgow; two sisters, Sue York of Glasgow and Evelyn Decker of Glasgow; three grandchildren, Nicole, Robert and Stephen Dewbrew; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Dewbrew; three brothers, Lenville, Ernest and Herbert Likens; and two sisters, Lucille McKenzie and Stella Hiser.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Charles Edward Johnson
PARK CITY – Charles Edward Johnson, 71, died Thursday, July 6, 2006, at the Medical Center.
The Edmonson County native was a son of the late Carlos Irvin Johnson and Ruby Lancaster Johnson. He was a farmer, an employee of Eaton Corp. for 26 years and an employee of General Electric for 10 years. He was a member of Cedar Springs United Baptist Church and the Rocky Hill Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jean Johnson; a daughter, Donna Jean Short and her husband Phillip of Park City; a son, William “Billy” Edward Johnson and his wife Barbara Gail of Rocky Hill; two brothers, Leon Johnson of Smiths Grove and Marvin Johnson and his wife Betty of Louisville; one granddaughter, Summer Jean Denton of Rocky Hill; three great-grandsons; three stepgranddaughters, Kelly Mills, Jamie Mosby and Christy Woosley; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel. Masonic service will be 7 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in the Rocky Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Duane Rollance Halvorson
ROCKY HILL – Duane Rollance Halvorson, 85, died Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at Edmonson County Health Care.
A native of Lamberton, Minn., he was a son of the late Theodore and Bertha Blank Halvorson. He was a retired employee of Firestone Textile Co., a member of the Lutheran Church and a World War II Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, DeEtta Schake Halvorson of Rocky Hill; one daughter, Sharon Bledsoe and her husband Ronnie of Brownsville; two sons, Ronald Halvorson and his wife Brenda of Rocky Hill and Jerry Halvorson and his wife Patsy of Bowling Green; three sisters, Lucille Burt of Corning, Ark., Arleen Templeton and her husband Winn of Two Harbors, Minn., and Marion Jensen and her husband Jimmy of Sanborn, Minn.; three brothers, Lavern Halvorson and his wife Vernette of Springfield, Minn., Jerome Halvorson and his wife Betty of Big River, Calif., and Kenneth Halvorson and his wife Nana of Lansing, Kan.; two sisters-in-law, Florence Halvorson of Springfield, Minn., and Nettie Halvorson of Lawrenceburg; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lowell Halvorson and Dale Halvorson.
Cremation was chosen. No visitation is scheduled. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel.
June Alice Lawson Richardson
RICHMOND – June Alice Lawson Richardson, 41, formerly of Burkesville, died Tuesday, July 4, 2006, in Lexington.
Survivors include her husband, Louis Richardson of Richmond; her father, Refus Newby of Burkesville; one sister, Angie Link of Bowling Green; two brothers, Ritchie Dean Lawson and Ronald Gene Lawson, both of Burkesville; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home in Burkesville with burial in the Lawson Bottom Cemetery.
