BONNIEVILLE — Eugene Wilson Devore, 87, of Bonnieville, passed away Saturday morning, March 1, 2014, at Kensington Manor Nursing Facility in Elizabethtown. He was a son of the late Jahugh and Ollie Bell Smith Devore and the husband of the late Laverne Devore. He was a retired civil service employee, a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, a member of the Leitchfield Crossing Baptist Church and a member of the Acme Lodge #851 F&AM.
Mr. Devore is survived by two sons, Greg Devore, of Hardyville, Mike Devore, of Bonnieville; one daughter, Delores J. Farris, of Glendale; one brother, Lonnie Devore, of Horse Cave; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Roy Devore, three sisters, Madge Bradley, Mary Srygler and Judy Morrison; a son-in-law, Jeep Minton and a daughter-in-law, Linda Devore.
Funeral services for Eugene Wilson Devore will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 3 in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home with Brother Jack Srygler officiating. Burial will be in Srygler Family Cemetery. Visitation is in progress and will continue after 8 a.m. Monday at Sego Funeral Home. A masonic service was 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
