GLASGOW — Joe Riley Jackson, 82, of Glasgow, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at his residence.

Born in Barren County, he was the son of the late William Elzie and Maude Lee Copas Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church, a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army, a member of Cave City Masonic Lodge #790 and a retired farmer and brick mason.


Survivors include his wife, Polly Jackson of Glasgow; two daughters, Jackie Todd and husband John G. Todd III of Summersville, S.C. and Pam “P.J.” Jackson-Hancock of Glasgow; three grandchildren, Shannon Murphy of Harrison, Ohio, Savannah Ramsey of Travelers Rest, S.C. and Chantz Hancock of Glasgow; five great-grandchildren, Mason and Ethan Murphy, and Hayden, Cooper and Lucas Ramsey; several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Thomas, Walter, Jim, Pete and Roy Jackson; and a sister, Hazel Jackson.


Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by DAV Chapter #20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. provided by Cave City Masonic Lodge #790 and the public is welcome to attend.
