GLASGOW – Katherine Harlow, 81, of Glasgow, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at her residence.
A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Annie Jones Hatcher. She was a housewife and a member of South Fork Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Harlow; one son, Terry Harlow and wife Sheila; two grandchildren, Matt Harlow and Laura Bale and husband Garnett; one great-granddaughter, Harlow Bale; one brother, Clyde Hatcher and wife Helen; one sister, Dorothy Thum and husband Dutch; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
TOMPKINSVILLE – Chloe Johnson, 85, of Tompkinsville, died Thursday, Nov. 7, at Monroe County Health and Rehab Center.
Chloe was born in Tompkinsville, on Aug. 1, 1928, a daughter of the late Nora (Page) and Erie Hagan.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9 at Monroe Baptist Church with Brother Darrick Proffitt officiating. Visitation is on Friday from 4 until 9 p.m. and Saturday 6 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home. Burial will be in Old Mount Herman Cemetery.
Mamie G. Shives
GLASGOW – Mamie G. Shives, 88, of Glasgow, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at her residence.
Born in Metcalfe County, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Pearl Fields and wife of the late James H. Shives. Mrs. Shives was of the Baptist faith and a retired food supervisor at Glenview Manor Nursing Home.
Survivors include a son, Garnett Shives and wife Charlene, of Glasgow; three daughters, Joyce Lutterman, of Glasgow, Deborah Bentley and husband Wendell, of Taylorsville, and Bonnie Owens and husband Bud, of Gate City, Va.; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Elbert Fields, of Glasgow and Carroll Fields, of Bowling Green; a sister, Clara Gibson, of Summitville, Ind.; several nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Nina Brown and Edna Gosser.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Aaron Fields, and two sisters, Jewell Jessie and Lois Wilson.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Shives Cemetery in Metcalfe County. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Friday the funeral home.
