Boyd Denver Young
GLASGOW — Boyd Denver Young, 80, of Glasgow, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital.
He was born in Caddo Mills, Texas, a son of the late Ulner Hurshel Young and Mildred Youngblood Young. Mr. Young was a heavy equipment operator and a former employee of Holland Inc. in Warren County. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his six children, Bonnie Griffin (Steve) of Royse City, Texas, Charles Young (Debbie) of Fort Worth, Texas, Larry Young (Kim) of Arlington, Texas, Debbie Davis (Kennie) of Glasgow, Cynthia Kirkland (Robert) of Euless, Texas, and Stacy Davis (Robert) of Cave City; the mother of his children, Emma Green Young Gregg; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Alvin Young (Tressie) of Glasgow and T.J. Young (Sharon) of Springtown, Texas; four sisters, Dorothy Hankins (Gene) of Horse Cave, Jakee Newman (Dean) of Weatherford, Texas, Virginia “Sissy” Rapier (Jimmy) of Dayton, Tenn., and Delores Tufte (Gary) of Haslet, Texas. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Young, and a sister, La Joyce Butler.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23 at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Old Zion Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday.
