Mattie B. Buster
GLASGOW – Mattie B. Buster, 93, of Glasgow, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at Hermitage Care & Rehab in Owensboro.
Born in Barren County, she was a daughter of the late Christopher and Emma Morgan McCoy and wife of the late William Thomas Buster. Mrs. Buster was a homemaker and a member of Neal’s Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her son, Billy Buster and wife Mary Jane, of Owensboro; two brothers, Roger McCoy and wife Wandaline and Charlie McCoy and wife Louise, both of Glasgow; one sister, Blondell Gibbons, of Cave City; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Woodrow, Owen D. and Oliver McCoy; and four sisters, Annie Murle Shaw, Irma Witty, Dorothy Owen and Allie Mae Jolly.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Neal’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Elma Mae Netherton Clarkson
MOSS, Tenn. – Elma Mae Netherton Clarkson, 62, of Moss, Tenn., died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at Monroe Health and Rehab Center.
Elma was born in Clay County, Tenn., on March 21, 1951, a daughter of the late Ettie Mae (Pennington) and Amos Netherton.
On Feb. 6, 1991, at Richard Clarkson’s garage, Doug Copas united her and Richard Clarkson, who survives her, in marriage.
Funeral service was 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, at Yokley Trible Funeral Home. John Osgatharp officiated. Burial was in Moore Cemetery.
Clifford ‘Poodle’ Cloyd
TOMPKINSVILLE – Clifford “Poodle” Cloyd, 73, of Tompkinsville, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville.
He was the son of the late David Cloyd and Ina Lee Murphy Cloyd.
Visitation is in progress and will continue after 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with entombment in Monroe County Memorial Lawn Mausoleum in Tompkinsville.
Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
MUNFORDVILLE – Pearline Dennis, 85, of Munfordville, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at her home in Munfordville. She was the daughter of the late Cortland Sanders and the late Dorothy Jaggers Sanders and wife of the late Joe Henry Dennis.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, at Brooks Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, at Pleasant View United Baptist Church. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church with Brother Jr. Logdson and Brother Herbert Logsdon officiating. Interment will be at Cub Run Cemetery, Cub Run.
James Earl ‘Jim’ Ford
HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. – James Earl “Jim” Ford, 77, of Hendersonville, Tenn., died Friday, Nov. 23, 2013, at Hendersonville Medical Center.
He was a son of the late Earl and Piccola Perkins Ford.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Moss Etta Everett Ford.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Nov. 26, at noon at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial to follow in Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation is in progress at the funeral home.
