Rex Douglas Turner
TOMPKINSVILLE – Rex Douglas Turner, 85, of Tompkinsville, passed away Wednesday, May 15, at Vanderbilt Hospital, in Nashville, Tenn. Rex was born in Tompkinsville, April 2, 1928, a son of the late Flossie (Proffitt) and Clyde Turner. On Feb. 21, 1948 he was married to the late Lena P. Turner, by Tollie Phemister. He was a member of Poplar Log Baptist Church and he was a farmer.
Rex is survived by three daughters, Connie Carter, Carla Bartley, and Kerrie Strode; four sons, Doug Turner; David Turner; Maxie Turner; and Gary Turner, all of Tompkinsville; Rex is also survived by three sisters, Christine Birge, of Tompkinsville, Geneva Jennings, of Tompkinsville, Dean Carter, of Nashville, Tenn. and two brothers, Glendell Turner and Eugene Turner, both of Tompkinsville; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Rex is preceded in death by his wife, Lena Turner; his parents, Clyde and Flossie Turner, two daughters; Marcella Turner and Karen Turner; and two sisters, Mossey Ree Shirley and Bernelle Emberton; and one grandson, Shawn Carter.
Funeral services will be held at Yokley Trible Funeral Home at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, with Brother Darrick Proffitt officiating.
Visitation is Friday after 4 p.m. and Saturday 6 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Monroe County Memorial Lawn.
EDMONTON – Jeffrey Harrison England, 57, of Edmonton, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at his home. Services will be 11 a.m. CST Friday at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, 2501 North Dixie Blvd., Radcliff. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central. GLASGOW – Mrs. Eugenia Allen “Bug” Hatchett, 90, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Carey & Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
