GLASGOW — Mary Brownfield McGuire, 85, of Glasgow, died Thursday, March 13, 2014, at NHC of Glasgow.

A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Smith Brownfield and Minnie Sowers Brownfield. She was formerly a sales clerk at J.C. Penney in Glasgow and book keeper at Glasgow Electric Motor. She was a member of the Glenview Christian Church where she was also an avid member of the church choir.

Survivors include one sister, Anna Gibbs of Glasgow; one sister-in-law, Sally Brownfield of Glasgow; three nieces, Carolyn Chambers and husband Richard, and Marla Edwards and husband Jeff, all of Glasgow, Linda Templeton of Costa Rica; one nephew, Tony Brownfield and wife Donna of Glasgow; nine great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Paul “Ken” McGuire; and four brothers, Wendell, Raymond, Jewell “Dee”, and Eugene Brownfield.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Glenview Christian Church.
